Current firmware version on AGS20

Right Click on the NE icon and then choose Applications>Software Manager

The following window will show the running and loaded bench

Right click on the NE and then press Add to download

This will add the NE to download list, select the correct path for the firmware version

The general path is /home/ftp/pub/Firmare – under this folder find the correct folder for the required
firmware version

Choose bin file since boot file


for 1.12.1 is same as that of
1.12.2 so it is not required to be
upgraded, only bin file should
be upgraded

Once the correct file path is selected, confirm


that bench switch is OFF and for bin file
Firmware / Forced option is choose. Then
check if immediate option is ON (in case the
download need to be started immediately) or
set the time for scheduling the upgrade for a
later time. Press Start download

The scheduled download will be shown in the lower part of window.

Either Enable Auto Refresh or press the refresh icon (recommended) to see the updated status of the
download

Once the firmware is completed the Status will show completed. Press the refresh button on upper
left corner to see the updated version in loaded bench

Choose the IDU icon that needs to be upgraded and then right click, then choose Applications >
Software Manager

A new window will open that will show the Running and Loaded firmware versions. Right click on the
IDU logical name and then choose Add to Download

The IDU will be added to download list on the right of the pane, click on Select

Choose the file path – the general path is /home/ftp/pub/Firmware – Under this folder further browse
to the target IDU type and firmware version

Choose img file since boot file


for 1.2.1 is same as that of 1.2.4
so it is not required to be
upgraded, only img file should
be upgraded

Important Note : The firmware upgrade is based on


upgrading two files in the IDU, one is boot file and the other
is img / bin file. It is recommended to check the boot file
size for current firmware version with the new version
before download. In case the two file sizes are same then it
is not required to download / upgrade the boot file.

For example boot file for AGS20L 1.2.1,1.2.2,1.2.3 and 1.2.4


is same so in case the version is being upgraded from 1.2.1
then it is not required to upgrade boot file. Only img / bin
file would need to be upgraded
