MODULE 1: Time Series Analysis


Time Series Analysis: Objectives, Components of time series, Component of Time
series: Secular trend and Seasonal variation, Measure of variation: measurement of
trend – Moving Average Method, Least Square method. Measurement of Seasonal
variation – Ratio to Trend method, Ratio to Moving Average Method, (Problems)
SLT: Link Relative Method(Problems)
MODULE 2: Queueing Theory and Reliability Engineering

Queueing Theory: Introduction, Queueing system, Queueing problems, Basic


queueing models –Measure of the (M|M|1) :(∞|𝐹𝐶𝐹𝑆) module,
(𝑀|𝑀|1): (𝑁|𝐹𝐶𝐹𝑆) module. (No derivation)
Reliability Engineering: Reliability of systems, Problems on MTTF, MTBF. (No
derivations)
SLT: MTTR (No derivations)

Module3: Special Probability Distributions


Negative Binomial Distribution, Geometric Distribution, Hyper geometric
Distribution, Gamma Distribution, Beta Distribution, and Problems.
SLT: Uniform distribution and Problems.
MODULE 4: Probability and Sampling(I-C)
Limit Theorems: Chebyshev’s inequality, Chertoff bounds, weak law of large
numbers, Central limit theorem (only problems).
Sampling: Population, sample, parameters, Confidence intervals for mean,
difference of means, proportions.
SLT: Strong law of large numbers
MODULE 5: Advanced Sampling Theory(I-C)
Testing of equality of variances (F–test) fisher test, Analysis of Variance.
One way classification. Assumptions regarding model. Two-way
classification with equal number of observations per cell. Duncan’s
multiple comparison test.
SLT: Analysis of covariance.
