Methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose ME-40T
Production introduction
Methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose ME-40T is a white to light yellow powder that is soluble in water.
It provides the necessary thickening, adhesion, water retention, suspension stability,
emulsification, and film-forming properties for different mortars. Its molecular structure is
specifically designed for mortar products and has the characteristics of small particle size and
fast dissolution. This can improve the construction performance of mortar products such as
open time and anti-slumping property. The product can be provided with different viscosity
and gel temperature according to customer demand, making it suitable for a wide range of
applications.
Due to MHEC ME-40T having a higher gel temperature, usually > 80℃, its stability under
high temperature is better that HPMC. In practical construction, in the hot construction
environment in summer, the water holding capacity of ME-40T with the same viscosity and
dosage is better than that of HPMC. Especially in the Southeast Asian countries and India,
mortar will sometimes be constructed at high temperature. Cellulose ether with low gel
temperature will lose its thickening and water retention at high temperature, thereby
accelerating the hardening of mortar, and affects the construction.
Application advantages

skim coat, tile adhesive, gypsum plastering mortar ,coating etc.

The product should be dry-blended with the other dry ingredients at a dosage of 0.5‰ to 5‰
by total weight. The actual dosage should be determined through suitable tests prior to
production and application.
Storage and packaging
No more than 12 months under condition 5-35°C, dry and cool. Prevent direct sunlight,
moisture and be pressed for caking. When it is more than 12 months, it still could be used if
there is no caking.
Packed in 25kg paper bag
