Typestyle Conventions
The following conventions are observed throughout this guide:
Bold text is used to designate file and folder names, dialog titles, names of buttons,
icons, and menus, and terms that are objects of a user selection.
Italic text is used for word emphasis, defined terms, and manual titles.
Monospace text (Courier) is used to show literal text as you would enter it, or as
it would appear onscreen.
Alert Statements
The alerting statements are Notes, Cautions, and Warnings. These statements are
formatted in the following style:
Caution: Advises of machine or data error that could occur should the user fail
to take or avoid a specified action.
Warning: Requires immediate action by the user to prevent actual loss of data
or where an action is irreversible, or when physical damage to the
machine or devices is possible.

Sign In Page
1 On the ProSource Data Service (PDS) Sign In page, enter your username and
password.
New users need to register to create an account in PDS.
2 Click SIGN IN.
User Registration
If you are a new user, register and create your account.
Register
1 Click Create an account in the Sign In page.
2 Enter all the required details in the User Registration window and select the
terms & conditions checkbox.
3 Click Sign Up.
Dashboard
It displays the graphical representation of well details.
Notifications Section
It notifies when there is an update in Wells, Seismic, Logs, and Documents sections
or any data is inserted from the date of last login. For example, if there is any
update on a well or a well is created, you can view the number of wells created and
the updated well.
When you click on any notification update, the relevant PDS Report window opens.
To get more details on any particular data type, right click on the data type and
select the required option such as Add Curve to Basket, Deviation Survey, LAS
Export, and so on.
Projects Section
It lists the entire pre-configured Seabed project.
You can designate a particular project as active project by selecting it. For example,
if you select PDS, data from PDS project are displayed for all the other ITab items in
the left bar menu.
Refresh
Click it to refresh and reload the data for the current menu item.
Shopping Basket
Click it to review and manage your active contents in the shopping basket.
Online Help
Click it to launch the online Help for the PDS application.
Log Out
Click it to log out of the PDS application.
Personalize
Click it to configure your preferences in the PDS application.
Each ITab section also has a further series of shared icons with the following
functionalities:
Icons Description
Click it to set the KPI and Attributes for the Report table.
Personalizing PDS
Helps you personalize PDS to display the tabs, projects, applications, and reports the
way you wish to see them. To set your preferences, hover the mouse pointer on the
left bar menu, click the arrow button, and select Personalize.
Personalization Function
iTabs Select it to organize the ITab sections. You can also choose a
default ITab item to show when you log in to PDS.
Projects Select it to set or remove login information. To set, click the key
icon next to the project name.
Applications Select it to organize the applications.
Reports Select it to organize the reports. You may select further reports to
include in the list or delete reports from the list.
Account Select it to change your profile details and password.
After you set your preferences, click Apply on each individual tab to save the
changes.

Search
1 Click Wells ITab on the left menu.
2 Enter the well name and other details.
3 Click Search.
Note: Make sure you complete all the mandatory fields indicated by red asterisks
(*).
View Curves
1 Select a well row by left-clicking it.
2 Right click the well row, and then select View Curves.
3 In the ProSource Data Service Report window, you can view the curves for
the selected well.
4 Select a row and then right click to view the available options for the report.
You can access the HTML5 viewer through the Lines sub tab.
Seismic Reports
For a 2D survey, you can view further details on seismic lines.
4 In the result section, update the Comment field, and then click Save at the
bottom.
Administrators can respond or update the requests created by the users.
Zoom out – Lets you to choose an area to reduce the selected region.
Pan tool – Lets you to click and drag the mouse to move the map area.
Icons Description
Left navigation options – Lets you navigate towards left side of the
map.
Full screen mode – Lets you to view map in full screen mode.
When you select a map region, the toggle results table appears. You can do the
following functions by right-clicking on any of the objects in the results table:
Buffer Selected – creates an area around the selected well.
Zoom to Selected – enlarges the selected map area of the well.
Select All – selects all the results in the toggle results table.
Invert Selection – inverts the selection in a grid.
Select None – deselects all the results.
Show Selected – displays only the selected wells on the current map.
Note: You can also launch other PDS applications from the map.
Layers
You can set different layers in the PDS ArcGIS map.
Set Layers
The PDS ArcGIS map section opens with Layers tab by default.
Each layer group in Layers tab—Seismic, Well, and External—expands/collapses by
clicking the arrow-headed icon next to it.
Each of the layer group has three checkboxes, and their default behavior depends on
the ArcGIS preferences set by an administrator such as:
Visibility checkbox – displays all the selected objects
Selection checkbox – makes the objects in the layer selectable
Label checkbox – displays the selected labels of a layer on the current map
Show/hide filters: select to apply filters on the layer. Enter a value and set the
filter(s).
Note: When the filter icon is selected, it changes the color from grey to green.
Legend
The Legend tab displays all the map legends data pertaining to a well. It explains
each legend with their label.
Basemap
In the Basemap tab, you can select any map skin. After selection, it is automatically
applied to the current map.
Attribute Search
In the Attribute Search tab, you can search attributes for the current map. You
can search attribute layer, attribute operator, and text.
Measurement
In the Measurement tab, you can measure the current map. You can measure by
unit tools area, distance, and location.
Unit Description
Area Click Area to define the vertices of the polygon that is used to
calculate area. You can select the area unit from the drop-down
list. Double-click after drawing the polygon to display the result.
Distance Click Distance to define the vertices of the multi-segment line
that is used to measure distance. You can select the distance unit
from the drop-down list. Double-click after drawing to display the
result.
Location Click Location to enable latitude and longitude coordinate
tracking by cursor movement. You can select location unit from
the drop-down list. Double-click after drawing for the result.
Import/Export
In the Import/Export tab, you can import/export current map co-ordinates. This
co-ordinates are usually in string format (JSON).
New Transmittals
You can access transmittals from the Transmittal and Seismic sections. Use this
section to create a new transmittal to be sent to the data manager.
Warning: You need to create multiple jobs when the transmittal has more
than one type of data.
2 In the Create New Transmittal window, enter the information in the required
fields. Mandatory fields are marked with red asterisks (*).
a. Required By – Click on the calendar to enter the required date.
b. Comments – Add any additional comments, if required.
c. General Information
Input a customer reference
Select an available survey from the dropdown menu.
Select your data type
Select the country where the data originates
Select a desired survey name, if your designated survey name does not
match the survey name saved in PDS.
Complete any further instructions.
Return Instructions: Check either Return or Dispose.
d. Collection Details
Complete the Address (if different from the default address).
Click on the calendar icon and select the appropriate collection date.
Add a courier reference, if available.
Enter the number of boxes of the shipment.
e. Delivery Details
This is completed for you. Change it only if you require a different
delivery address.
The received date will be completed by the Schlumberger PDS team
upon reception of the data.
f. Return Details
Either use the collection address by clicking on the link or enter an
alternative address.
Complete the other fields as above.
The returned date should be completed upon receipt of the returned data.
3 Attach Spreadsheets 01_Data_Loading_Form.xls and
02_Data_Catalogue_Form.xls, if required.
4 If the data are in electronic format, browse and upload the relevant files.
5 Click Save, and then click Close.
6 To complete the dispatch process, you need to edit your transmittal.
Note: The status changes to complete when the data is sent back to the data
manager.
Note: All deleted transmittals can be viewed from a public report called
Archived Transmittals.

4 Click the shopping basket icon on the top right corner of the screen.
5 ProSource Data Service – My Basket window appears.
By Default,
Wells, Surveys, Curves are saved in the Data Items tab,
Lines and Datasets are saved in the Seismic Volumes tab, and
Documents are saved in the Documents tab.
Note: To delete the rows, select and right click the rows and then click Delete
From Basket.
2 Click the shopping basket icon and select the Seismic Volumes tab.
3 Click the Offline Order for administrator/data owner’s approval.
4 Enter any additional details in the Enter additional information popup and
then click Submit Order.
5 To exit, click Close.
Note: The Open Full Seismic Line Report option is available for 2D survey
lines tab – Survey Info.
Note: If you directly click Search without entering any search criteria, all
available data will be retrieved.
Data Search
This right click menu option is used to find details of a particular well such as
Deviation Surveys, Logs, Core Ranges, Marker rangers, and so on.
Search Data
1 Select one or multiple rows, right click on the rows and then select Data
Search.
2 In the Well Search window, selected wells will be displayed in the Datatype:
Borehole section.
Requesting Data
The Data Request right click menu option can be accessed from both the Wells
and Seismic sections.
Request Data
1 Select and right click on the row.
2 Click Data Request.
The Data Store window opens and displays the following four tabs:

Inbox (Administrator Only)
Completeness
Create a Request
1 In the Create Request tab, select the Data Type, Data SubType from the
dropdown list.
2 Enter the comment in the Comment box. If you have accessed this tab via the
Documents tab this box will be entitled Feedback.
3 Select the date from the Required By date box.
4 To add a row, click ; and to delete a row, click .
5 Click Send and Save.
6 Click OK to confirm.
7 Click the Export to Excel link to save the created request to your computer in
an Excel format.
8 To print the report, click Print Report icon on the top right corner.

9 To exit, click close window on the top right corner.
Note: The results obtained are based on the selected search criteria in the
Status and Type box.
Note: You can write a comment in the Comment box on a particular request
for administrator/data owner.
Note: You can select one or multiple status by holding SHIFT + CTRL keys in
the Status box.
8 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
Notes:
The results obtained are based on the selected search criteria in the
Status and Type box.
You can select one or multiple status by holding SHIFT+CTRL keys.
Select the checkbox to write the file number in the File Exists box.
In the result area, you can change the status of the displayed request.
You can write a response in the Response box on a particular request
for the user. For example, File sent to you through an email.
Data Submission
You can submit data from both the Wells and Seismic sections.
Submit Data
1 In the Data Submission tab, select the Data Type, Report Type and Source
from the respective drop down list.
2 Select the Quality Option. For example, Good, Average.
3 Select the Owner Information checkbox to confirm verification by data owner.
4 Enter the name of the owner in the Owner Ref. box.
5 Enter the details in Report Title, Contractor, Original Ref No., Author,
Originator, Media ref. No. and any comments in the boxes provided.
6 Select the date from the Report Date box.
7 To upload the data, select the File Format, Browse to attach the preferred file
and then click Upload.
8 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
9 To exit, click close window on the top right corner.
Note: In the Data Submission tab, by default the selected Seismic Survey or
Seismic Line Name(s) will be displayed. When you select the Quality
option, the QC Auditor and QC Date is selected automatically.
10 Select the format from the Format list and click Replace to select a different
file in the File Name section, for example, Wrong file updated and has to be
replaced.
Note Click Copy to New to create a copy of selected data based on the
existing file.
Note: In the Data Submission tab, by default the selected well name is
displayed in the Regional Name(s) box. When you select the Quality
option, the QC Auditor and QC Date is selected automatically.
2 Search for the document or enter the Document ID in the Search for
Enclosure(s) box.
3 Click Assign as Enclosure(s).
4 Click Close to exit.
3 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
4 Click Save to complete the changes.
Note: You can set any one option – Yes, No, Not Set for all data types by
selecting set all to: Yes | No | Not Set.

Note: To convert all units to Feet or Meters, select either Feet or Meters on
the right corner of the screen.
Export Data
1 Search for the desired data and select it.
a. Either All Tables or a specific table number from the dropdown menu
b. The amount of data you wish to export:
what is currently displayed,
a specific number of rows
all data
c. The format you would like to export to, either: MS Excel, MS Word, or text.
4 Click Export.
5 Open or Save your file as appropriate.
Downloading Data
You can download any data that has been added to the basket.
Download data
1 Follow steps 1-3 for adding objects to the basket.
2 View the data you want to download by selecting the appropriate tab in the My
Basket window.
3 To save the data in the preferred location, for example, the Desktop, Click
Export and Download Data, and then click Save.
Note: To download data from the other two tabs (Documents and Seismic
Volumes) click the Download Now (basic) link. The download limit
when using this link is 1GB.
Exporting a Dataset
Surveys that have been added to the basket and are currently located within the
Seismic Volumes tab can be selected for export. You can export either the entire
dataset or a subset of the data.
Note: You can view a summary of your dataset by clicking on the link in the
My Basket window.
4 Complete the necessary fields then click Submit. Mandatory fields have red
asterisks (*).
Note: You can select from the output directories set up by your administrator.
Please select your output directory with care as this is the location where
the seismic files will be exported.
A message will confirm that the export has been successfully submitted.
5 Close the My Basket window.
6 Navigate to the More tab and select the menu option Organizer.
View the status of your export from the report located in the following directory
Reports\Public Reports\PDS\Seismic Export Job
7 Now you are ready to create your transmittal to send the exported data to the
data manager.
LAS Export
You can carry out an LAS export for your selected curve or log.
You can also alter the polygon selection on your map by amending coordinates
manually.
Note: For further details on the PDS GIS Map - See PDS GIS Map Tab
8 Add the Survey to the Basket to carry out further actions such as exporting and
downloading.
SEG–Y Preview
If you wish to view SEG-Y images for further analysis, SEG-Y Preview is available
from the Lines sub-tab of the Seismic section from the Survey Info page. The
Seismic line is displayed in JPG format with multiple grids to view as an image.
Note: Click on the thumbnails at the bottom of the SEG-Y Viewer to view a
particular SEG-Y image.
