Typestyle Conventions
The following conventions are observed throughout this guide:
Bold text is used to designate file and folder names, dialog titles, names of buttons,
icons, and menus, and terms that are objects of a user selection.
Italic text is used for word emphasis, defined terms, and manual titles.
Monospace text (Courier) is used to show literal text as you would enter it, or as
it would appear onscreen.

Alert Statements
The alerting statements are Notes, Cautions, and Warnings. These statements are
formatted in the following style:

Note: Information that is incidental to the main text flow, or to an important


point or tip provided in addition to the previous statement or instruction.

Caution: Advises of machine or data error that could occur should the user fail

User Registration

Sign In Page
1 On the ProSource Data Service (PDS) Sign In page, enter your username and
password.
New users need to register to create an account in PDS.
2 Click SIGN IN.

If you are a new user, register and create your account.

 Register
1 Click Create an account in the Sign In page.
2 Enter all the required details in the User Registration window and select the
terms & conditions checkbox.
3 Click Sign Up.

PDS Home Page


The PDS Home page displays the Dashboard, Notifications, Map, and Projects
panels.

Dashboard
It displays the graphical representation of well details.

Notifications Section
It notifies when there is an update in Wells, Seismic, Logs, and Documents sections
or any data is inserted from the date of last login. For example, if there is any
update on a well or a well is created, you can view the number of wells created and
the updated well.

Projects Section

When you click on any notification update, the relevant PDS Report window opens.
To get more details on any particular data type, right click on the data type and
select the required option such as Add Curve to Basket, Deviation Survey, LAS
Export, and so on.

Projects Section
It lists the entire pre-configured Seabed project.
You can designate a particular project as active project by selecting it. For example,
if you select PDS, data from PDS project are displayed for all the other ITab items in
the left bar menu.

ITabs and DP Tabs in the Left Bar Menu


It lists the available ITab sections and a link to Decision Point (DP) application. The
left menu expands when you hover your mouse pointer on the left bar in PDS
windows.

Shared Functionality Icons in the Top Menu Bar


It displays the following icons at the top right for all the ITab sections.

 Refresh
Click it to refresh and reload the data for the current menu item.

 Shopping Basket
Click it to review and manage your active contents in the shopping basket.

 Online Help
Click it to launch the online Help for the PDS application.

 Log Out
Click it to log out of the PDS application.

 Personalize
Click it to configure your preferences in the PDS application.

Personalizing PDS

Each ITab section also has a further series of shared icons with the following
functionalities:

Icons Description

Click it to select all the rows in the results table.

Click it to clear any selection made in the results table.

Click it to deselect the selected rows, and select the dese-


lected rows in the results table.

Click it to set the KPI and Attributes for the Report table.

Click it to view or create charts based on your data using


Chart Builder window.
Click it to set the attributes to be displayed in the Report ta-
ble, along with their order.
Click it to define multiple criteria for filtering on any column in
the Report table.

Click it to edit the report.

Click it to set the current search/filters to be re-applied auto-


matically on return to this page.

Click it to save the reports in various file formats.

Click it to print the search results.

Click it to export the search results to Excel®, Word®, or text


files.

Click it to open the current search results in a new window.

Personalizing PDS
Helps you personalize PDS to display the tabs, projects, applications, and reports the
way you wish to see them. To set your preferences, hover the mouse pointer on the
left bar menu, click the arrow button, and select Personalize.

The Personalization window displays the following tabs:

Personalization Function
iTabs Select it to organize the ITab sections. You can also choose a
default ITab item to show when you log in to PDS.
Projects Select it to set or remove login information. To set, click the key
icon next to the project name.
Applications Select it to organize the applications.
Reports Select it to organize the reports. You may select further reports to
include in the list or delete reports from the list.
Account Select it to change your profile details and password.

After you set your preferences, click Apply on each individual tab to save the
changes.

Searching for Well Information

About the Wells ITab


The Wells section provides detailed information such as Spud date, Completion
date, Well class and other details of a particular well.
From the Wells section you can:
 Search for information
 Create new wells
 Add objects to the basket
 Request data
 Access the Data Tools menu
 View curves
 Carry out a LAS export
 View PDS Log
 Search PDS data

Searching for Well Information


You can search for the details of a particular well in the Wells section.

 Search
1 Click Wells ITab on the left menu.
2 Enter the well name and other details.
3 Click Search.

Creating New Wells


Administrators can create new wells by entering the required information in PDS.
PDS generates a record for the new well. All PDS users can view the record.

 Create a new well


1 On the Wells section, click New on the top right corner.
2 In the Create a new record menu, enter all the required information of the
new well.
3 Click Create Record to save the details.

Note: Make sure you complete all the mandatory fields indicated by red asterisks
(*).

Right Click Options for Wells ITab


In the Wells section, you have several options available such as adding a well to the
basket, creating entitlement, requesting or searching data, viewing curves, and so
on. For example, to view the curves of a particular well:

 View Curves
1 Select a well row by left-clicking it.
2 Right click the well row, and then select View Curves.

3 In the ProSource Data Service Report window, you can view the curves for
the selected well.
4 Select a row and then right click to view the available options for the report.

About the Seismic ITab

About the Seismic ITab


The Seismic section provides information on seismic surveys and lines. It also
provides detailed information on Survey Name, Energy Source, Energy Source Depth
and other details of a particular Survey or Lines.
 Select Surveys sub tab to search for 2D and 3D survey details
 Select Lines sub tab to search for 2D line details
From the Seismic section, you can:
 Search for information
 View search results
 Create a transmittal
 Add an object to the basket
 Request data
 Access Data Tools options
 View survey info
 View dataset detail
 View surveys or lines on the map
 Access the PDS seismic viewer
 View a seismic line report (Lines Sub-tab only)
 View a full seismic dataset report (Surveys Sub-tab only)

Viewing Seismic Details


From the Surveys sub tab of the Seismic section, you can view seismic details for
the selected survey.

 View Seismic Details


1 Select a survey by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the survey, and then select the View Dataset Details option.
The Report-Seismic Volumes window opens and displays the details such as
Dataset ID, type, UOM, file path, and so on for the selected dataset.

PDS HTML5 Viewer

You can access the HTML5 viewer through the Lines sub tab.

 Launch the PDS HTML5 Viewer


1 Select a Lines row by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the row, and then select PDS HTML5 Viewer from the menu.
The INT HTML5 Seismic Viewer opens in a new window.

Seismic Reports
For a 2D survey, you can view further details on seismic lines.

 Open a Seismic Line Report


1 Select a Lines row by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the row, and then select Survey Info from the menu.

The PDS Seismic Inventory window opens.

3 Click the grid icon in the Poststack tab.


The PDS Report window opens.
4 In the report, select a Lines row by left-clicking it.
5 Right click the row, and then select the Add Line to Basket from the menu
options.

 Open a Full Seismic Dataset Report


1 Select a Survey row by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the row, and then select Survey Info from the menu options.

4 Click Print , Save , or Export your report as appropriate.

About the Documents ITab


The Documents ITab section lets you browse and search for documents. From this
section, you can:
 Add an item to the basket
 Access data tools options
 Download data items
 Request PDS data feedback

PDS Data Feedback


In the Documents section, you can provide feedback for any missing data
and view the status of the requested data.

2 Right-click the object and select PDS Data Feedback option.


The PDS DataStore window opens.

About the Logs ITab


In the Logs section, you can view all the log data pertaining to a well.
From the Logs section, you can:
 Search for logs
 View search results
 Add objects to the basket

About the Data Request ITab


The Data Request section lets you provide feedback or create requests for any
missing data.

 Create a Request for Missing Data


1 In the Outbox sub tab, select an option from the Status list.
 Initial – You can view the requests that are in the initial stage.
 Acknowledged – You can view the requests that are updated by the
administrator/data owner.
 Closed – You can view the requests that are closed by the
administrator/data owner.
2 Select the Type from the drop down list.
 Feedback – You can view and give feedback to any request that you have
created.
 Missing Data Request – You can view the details of the request sent for
missing data.
3 Click Go.

4 In the result section, update the Comment field, and then click Save at the
bottom.
Administrators can respond or update the requests created by the users.

 Update Missing Data Requests


1 In the Inbox sub tab, select an option from the Status list.
 Initial – You can view the requests that are in the stage created by the
user.
 Acknowledged – You can view the requests acknowledged by the user and
update them.
 Closed – You can view and close a created request.
2 Select the Type from the drop down list.
 Feedback – You can view and give feedback to the user on any request.
 Missing Data Request – You can view and update the request created by
the user.
3 Click Go.
4 In the result section, update the Response field
5 Select the checkbox to write the file number in the File Exists field
6 Change the Status as appropriate, and then click Save at the bottom.

About the PDS Admin ITab


In the PDS Admin section, you can notify changes, edit system settings and
generate SEG-Y image script.

 Updating User Notifications


When clicked on Update User Notifications link, PDS automatically updates the
changes from different data types. Users can view the updates between last login to
current login in Notification panel in the Home page.

 Editing the System Settings


1 In the System Settings section, right click the object, and then select Edit
System Settings from the menu options.
2 In the Edit System Settings window, enter the details, and then click Submit.

To create a new system setting,

1 Click the add icon in the System Settings section.


2 Enter the details and click Submit.

 Generating SEG-Y Image Script


When clicked on Generate SEG-Y Image Script link, a Pearl script for all the .segy
files for which there are no JPEG images is created.

About the PDS ArcGIS Map ITab


The ArcGIS map ITab section contains layers, legends, basemap, attribute search,
measurement, and import/export tabs. The new ArcGIS map is based on ESRI and
the ArcGIS technology provides better control over the content and the display of the
relevant details.

 Use the PDS ArcGIS Map ITab


Click the PDS ArcGIS map ITab on the left menu.

The PDS ArcGIS map has the following icons:


Icons Description

Rectangular selection – Lets you to define a rectangular area.

Polygonal selection – Lets you to define the vertices of a polygon.

Freehand selection – Lets you to click, hold, and move mouse in a


free manner to define an enclosed area.

Zoom in – Lets you to choose an area to enlarge the selected region.

Zoom out – Lets you to choose an area to reduce the selected region.

Pan tool – Lets you to click and drag the mouse to move the map area.

Full extent – Lets you to reload the map.

About the PDS ArcGIS Map ITab

Icons Description

Go back – Lets you to restore the last performed operation.

Go forward – Lets you repeat the last performed operation.

Reset – Lets you to clear the selection.

Toggle attributes – Lets you to switch between hide/display the


selected map results.

Zoom in/out slider bar – Lets you to increase/decrease map zoom


levels.

Left navigation options – Lets you navigate towards left side of the
map.

Full screen mode – Lets you to view map in full screen mode.

Right navigation options – Lets you to navigate towards right side of


the map.

When you select a map region, the toggle results table appears. You can do the
following functions by right-clicking on any of the objects in the results table:
 Buffer Selected – creates an area around the selected well.
 Zoom to Selected – enlarges the selected map area of the well.
 Select All – selects all the results in the toggle results table.
 Invert Selection – inverts the selection in a grid.
 Select None – deselects all the results.
 Show Selected – displays only the selected wells on the current map.

Layers

Note: You can also launch other PDS applications from the map.

Layers
You can set different layers in the PDS ArcGIS map.

 Set Layers
The PDS ArcGIS map section opens with Layers tab by default.
Each layer group in Layers tab—Seismic, Well, and External—expands/collapses by
clicking the arrow-headed icon next to it.

Note: External group is currently under construction.

Each of the layer group has three checkboxes, and their default behavior depends on
the ArcGIS preferences set by an administrator such as:
 Visibility checkbox – displays all the selected objects
 Selection checkbox – makes the objects in the layer selectable

About the PDS ArcGIS Map ITab

 Label checkbox – displays the selected labels of a layer on the current map
 Show/hide filters: select to apply filters on the layer. Enter a value and set the
filter(s).

Note: When the filter icon is selected, it changes the color from grey to green.

Legend
The Legend tab displays all the map legends data pertaining to a well. It explains
each legend with their label.

Basemap

Basemap
In the Basemap tab, you can select any map skin. After selection, it is automatically
applied to the current map.

Attribute Search
In the Attribute Search tab, you can search attributes for the current map. You
can search attribute layer, attribute operator, and text.

About the PDS ArcGIS Map ITab

Measurement
In the Measurement tab, you can measure the current map. You can measure by
unit tools area, distance, and location.

Unit Description
Area Click Area to define the vertices of the polygon that is used to
calculate area. You can select the area unit from the drop-down
list. Double-click after drawing the polygon to display the result.
Distance Click Distance to define the vertices of the multi-segment line
that is used to measure distance. You can select the distance unit
from the drop-down list. Double-click after drawing to display the
result.
Location Click Location to enable latitude and longitude coordinate
tracking by cursor movement. You can select location unit from
the drop-down list. Double-click after drawing for the result.

Import/Export
In the Import/Export tab, you can import/export current map co-ordinates. This
co-ordinates are usually in string format (JSON).

Note: The Import/Export function is under construction.

New Transmittals

About the Transmittal ITab


The Transmittal section lets you to control and manage the transmittal of data,
both electronically and also by mail. The transmittal tab has the following search
fields: Transmittal ID, User Name, Status and Data Type.
From the Transmittal iTab, you can:
 Create a new transmittal
 Search existing transmittals
 Edit transmittals
 Delete transmittals

New Transmittals
You can access transmittals from the Transmittal and Seismic sections. Use this
section to create a new transmittal to be sent to the data manager.

Warning: You need to create multiple jobs when the transmittal has more
than one type of data.

Note: You receive email notifications at respective stages throughout the


dispatch and transmittal process.

 Create a new transmittal


1 In the Transmittal section, click New at the top right corner.

2 In the Create New Transmittal window, enter the information in the required
fields. Mandatory fields are marked with red asterisks (*).
a. Required By – Click on the calendar to enter the required date.
b. Comments – Add any additional comments, if required.
c. General Information
 Input a customer reference
 Select an available survey from the dropdown menu.
 Select your data type
 Select the country where the data originates
 Select a desired survey name, if your designated survey name does not
match the survey name saved in PDS.
 Complete any further instructions.
 Return Instructions: Check either Return or Dispose.
d. Collection Details
 Complete the Address (if different from the default address).

About the Transmittal ITab

 Click on the calendar icon and select the appropriate collection date.
 Add a courier reference, if available.
 Enter the number of boxes of the shipment.
e. Delivery Details
 This is completed for you. Change it only if you require a different
delivery address.
 The received date will be completed by the Schlumberger PDS team
upon reception of the data.
f. Return Details
 Either use the collection address by clicking on the link or enter an
alternative address.
 Complete the other fields as above.
The returned date should be completed upon receipt of the returned data.
3 Attach Spreadsheets 01_Data_Loading_Form.xls and
02_Data_Catalogue_Form.xls, if required.
4 If the data are in electronic format, browse and upload the relevant files.
5 Click Save, and then click Close.
6 To complete the dispatch process, you need to edit your transmittal.

Editing an Existing Transmittal


The Edit Existing Transmittal page lets you complete a dispatch process or
change the details of an existing transmittal.

Note: The status changes to complete when the data is sent back to the data
manager.

Deleting an Existing Transmittal


You can delete an existing transmittal.

Note: All deleted transmittals can be viewed from a public report called
Archived Transmittals.

1 Select an object by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the object and select Edit Transmittal option.
The Edit Existing Transmittal form opens.
3 Click Delete and then click OK in the confirmation pop up.

Adding Objects to the Basket

Adding Objects to the Basket


You can add the selected Well, Survey, Line, Dataset, or Report to the
shopping basket and export to your computer.

 Add an Object to the Basket


1 Select an object by left-clicking it in the appropriate ITab section.
2 Right-click the object and select the Add Well/Survey/Line to Basket from
the menu options.
3 Click OK in the confirmation message.

4 Click the shopping basket icon on the top right corner of the screen.
5 ProSource Data Service – My Basket window appears.
By Default,
 Wells, Surveys, Curves are saved in the Data Items tab,
 Lines and Datasets are saved in the Seismic Volumes tab, and
 Documents are saved in the Documents tab.

Note: To delete the rows, select and right click the rows and then click Delete
From Basket.

 Order Seismic Volumes


1 Add the survey/dataset to the basket.

2 Click the shopping basket icon and select the Seismic Volumes tab.
3 Click the Offline Order for administrator/data owner’s approval.

Note: Alternatively download the report to your computer, by clicking


Download Now (basic).

then click Submit Order.

Searching for Information


You can search for information in the following iTabs:
 Wells
Search fields include: Well Name, Well Alias, Spud Date, Completion Date, Class,
Current Owner, Status, Field, and License
 Seismic (Seismic Survey and Seismic Line)
Search fields include: Survey Name, Survey Code, Survey Area Name, Current
Owner, Acquisition Date, and Survey Alias
 Documents
In the Document ITab, you can search document and images related to Wells,
Seismic survey and Seismic line. You can also add documents and images to the
Shopping Basket to download to your computer.
 Logs
Search fields include: Well Name, Log Channel Id, Contractor, Top Depth (Min-
Max), Curve Name, Sequence Name, Borehole UWI, and Bottom Depth (Min-
Max)
 Transmittal
Search fields include: Transmittal ID, Status, User Name, Data Type, and Survey
Name.
You can search for information by entering one or more search criteria or directly
search by clicking search without entering any search criteria.

 Search for Information


1 Click any ITab you are interested in.
2 Enter one or more filter criteria in the search fields.
a. Click the Reset button to clear the entered search criteria.
b. Use Wildcard character ‘%’ for search.
c. Enter multiple values by entering a comma (without a space) between the
values. For example, Well Name,Well Alias.
3 Select the From and To date.
4 Click Clear to delete the selected dates.
5 Use the toggle icon to select multiple selections.

Note: If you directly click Search without entering any search criteria, all
available data will be retrieved.

Search results will appear showing all the details such as Survey Name, Line
Name, Document Type, File Name, Format and other details based on the
search criteria.
To view further details on a specific object, select and then right click on the
row. You can select multiple files by holding SHIFT+CTRL keys.

Data Search

Data Search
This right click menu option is used to find details of a particular well such as
Deviation Surveys, Logs, Core Ranges, Marker rangers, and so on.

 Search Data
1 Select one or multiple rows, right click on the rows and then select Data
Search.
2 In the Well Search window, selected wells will be displayed in the Datatype:
Borehole section.

3 To save the report, click Save As Report icon.


 To save a file, select the folder, enter the Name and the Description, and
then click OK.

4 To print the report, click the Print Report icon.

Requesting Data
The Data Request right click menu option can be accessed from both the Wells
and Seismic sections.

 Request Data
1 Select and right click on the row.
2 Click Data Request.
The Data Store window opens and displays the following four tabs:
 Create Request
 Outbox
 Inbox (Administrator Only)
 Completeness

The Create a Request Tab

 Create a Request
1 In the Create Request tab, select the Data Type, Data SubType from the
dropdown list.
2 Enter the comment in the Comment box. If you have accessed this tab via the
Documents tab this box will be entitled Feedback.
3 Select the date from the Required By date box.
4 To add a row, click ; and to delete a row, click .
5 Click Send and Save.
6 Click OK to confirm.
7 Click the Export to Excel link to save the created request to your computer in
an Excel format.

The Outbox Tab


In this tab, you can view the status of created requests.

 View the Status of Created Requests


1 Select an option from the Status list:
 Initial – You can view the requests that are in the initial stage.
 Acknowledged – You can view the requests that are updated by the
administrator/Data owner.
 Closed – You can view the requests that are closed by the
administrator/data owner.
2 Select the Type from the drop down list.
 Missing Data Request – You can view the details of the request sent for
missing data.
 Feedback – You can view and give feedback to any request that you have
created.
3 Enter the Request No.
4 Click Clear to delete the entered request.
5 Click Go to view the results.
6 Click Save to save any changes made.
7 Click Export to Excel link to save the requests to your computer in an excel
format.

8 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
9 To exit, click close window on the top right corner.

Note: The results obtained are based on the selected search criteria in the
Status and Type box.

The Inbox Tab (Admin Only)

The Inbox Tab (Admin Only)


Only administrators have access to the Inbox tab. In this tab, you can view all the
requests created by the users.
1 In the Inbox tab, select an option from the Status list.
 Initial – You can view and update the requests created by the users.
 Acknowledged – You can view and update the requests acknowledged by
the users.
 Closed – You can view and close a created request.
2 Select the Type from the drop down list.
 Missing Data Request – You can view and update the requests created by
the users.
 Feedback – You can view and give feedback to the user on any request.
3 Enter the request number of the created request in the Request No. box.
4 Click Clear to delete the entered request.
5 Click Go to view the results.
6 Click Save to save the changes.
7 Click Export to Excel link to save the requests to your computer in an Excel
format.

8 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.

Notes:
 The results obtained are based on the selected search criteria in the

Using the Data Tools Menu


The Data Tools right click menu option can be accessed through Wells and Seismic
sections.

 Access the Data Tools Menu


1 Select an object by left-clicking it.
2 Right-click the object and select Well/Survey Data Tools from the menu.
The Data Tools menu provides the following options:
 Data Submission
 Survey Info (Seismic only)
 Well/Survey Header
 Completeness
 Inventory (Admin Only)
 Well/Survey Header Update

Data Submission
You can submit data from both the Wells and Seismic sections.

 Submit Data
1 In the Data Submission tab, select the Data Type, Report Type and Source
from the respective drop down list.
2 Select the Quality Option. For example, Good, Average.
3 Select the Owner Information checkbox to confirm verification by data owner.
4 Enter the name of the owner in the Owner Ref. box.
5 Enter the details in Report Title, Contractor, Original Ref No., Author,
Originator, Media ref. No. and any comments in the boxes provided.
6 Select the date from the Report Date box.
7 To upload the data, select the File Format, Browse to attach the preferred file
and then click Upload.

8 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
9 To exit, click close window on the top right corner.

Note: In the Data Submission tab, by default the selected Seismic Survey or
Seismic Line Name(s) will be displayed. When you select the Quality
option, the QC Auditor and QC Date is selected automatically.

Data Submission

10 Select the format from the Format list and click Replace to select a different
file in the File Name section, for example, Wrong file updated and has to be
replaced.

11 Click Save and then, click Close to confirm.

Note Click Copy to New to create a copy of selected data based on the
existing file.

 Create a new document and assign it to the existing file

1 Click Create New Enclosure icon .


2 Enter the details.
3 To upload the data, select the File Format, Browse to attach the preferred file
and then click Upload.
4 Click return to parent item, to return to the Parent Document page.

Note: In the Data Submission tab, by default the selected well name is
displayed in the Regional Name(s) box. When you select the Quality
option, the QC Auditor and QC Date is selected automatically.

 Assign an existing document to the existing file


1 Click Assign Enclosure.
The Enclosure Search dialog box appears.

2 Search for the document or enter the Document ID in the Search for
Enclosure(s) box.
3 Click Assign as Enclosure(s).
4 Click Close to exit.

 Data Submission of VSP and Log Image Files


1 Enter Title (Tool Combination/Services Run), Log Version, Media ref. No.,
Comments, Originator, Log Contractor/Co.
2 Select the Run Creation/Date from the calendar.
3 Enter the details in the boxes provided such as Top Depth, Bottom Depth
4 Select either the Feet or Meters UOM.

Inventory (Admin Only)


Only administrators have access to Inventory tab. Administrators can outline the
inventory requirements for all data. This Inventory list displays the data those are
required and available/unavailable for requesting. Changes made in this tab reflect in
the Completeness tab.

 Use the Inventory


1 In the Data Tools window, click Inventory tab.
Each data has following fields to mark the availability.
 Yes: To indicate the data is required and available for requesting.
 No: To indicate the data is not required.
 Not Set: It is a default setting for you to set an Yes or No.

 Comment : To add a comment.

2 To exit, click close window link on the top right corner.

3 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.
4 Click Save to complete the changes.

Note: You can set any one option – Yes, No, Not Set for all data types by
selecting set all to: Yes | No | Not Set.

Survey Info (Seismic only)

Survey Info (Seismic only)


In the Survey Info window, you can view the information on 2D and 3D Surveys.
You can also view a GIS map of the selected Survey. Below is an example of 2D
Survey. Lines data is displayed only for 2D surveys. Survey Info can be accessed
from the right-click menu from your selected survey(s).
Survey Info shows the following survey header information: PreStatck, PostStack,
field, Offline, and related document (datasets) in individual tabs.

To View Survey Info


1 In the Survey Info tab, to view further details on a specific Survey, select and
right click the row. You can select multiple Surveys by holding SHIFT+CTRL
keys.
The following menu options are available if you right-click your selected survey:
 Add Dataset to Basket
 View Dataset Detail
 SEG-Y Preview

 View Dataset Detail


1 To view further details of the selected dataset, right click on the row and select
View Dataset Detail.
2 Search results such as Dataset ID, Domain Type, File Path and other details
appear.

Viewing Header Information


You can view complete header information of a particular well or survey at a time.

 View the Survey Header


1 In the Survey Header tab, you can view the Survey header summary.
2 To convert all units to Feet or Meters, select either Feet or Meters on the top
right corner of the screen.

3 To print the report, click the Print Report icon on the top right corner.

Updating Header Information


Only administrators can update the Survey header information.

 Update a Well/Survey Header


1 Enter the details in the boxes provided:
 From Wells Tab: Label, Platform, Platform Slot, Primary Target.
 From Seismic Tab: Survey Name, Survey Type, Survey Environment.
2 Select the options from the list. For example, Current Owner, Original
Operator.
3 Select the dates.
4 Click Save Changes to save the changes.

Note: To convert all units to Feet or Meters, select either Feet or Meters on
the right corner of the screen.

The Completeness Tab


In the Completeness tab, you can view the status of all types of data modified by
the administrator/data owner.
You can know the status of the data based on the colored buttons provided.
Icon Description
Green This button denotes that the data item is available in the
system.
Amber This button denotes that the data item is not available in
the system, and there is no requirement set for this data
type.
Red This button denotes that the data item is required, but cur-
rently not present in system.
Grey This button denotes that the data item is not required.
Comment To view the updated date or any comment updated by the
administrator/data owner, click on the Comment icon.

Exporting and Downloading Data


You can export data from the Wells, Seismic, Documents, Logs, and Transmittal
tabs.

Note: This is not the same as exporting a dataset.

 Export Data
1 Search for the desired data and select it.

2 Click the Export icon .

a. Either All Tables or a specific table number from the dropdown menu
b. The amount of data you wish to export:
 what is currently displayed,
 a specific number of rows
 all data
c. The format you would like to export to, either: MS Excel, MS Word, or text.
4 Click Export.
5 Open or Save your file as appropriate.

Downloading Data
You can download any data that has been added to the basket.

 Download data
1 Follow steps 1-3 for adding objects to the basket.
2 View the data you want to download by selecting the appropriate tab in the My
Basket window.
3 To save the data in the preferred location, for example, the Desktop, Click
Export and Download Data, and then click Save.

Note: To download data from the other two tabs (Documents and Seismic
Volumes) click the Download Now (basic) link. The download limit
when using this link is 1GB.

4 Click Close to exit from My Basket window.

Exporting a Dataset
Surveys that have been added to the basket and are currently located within the
Seismic Volumes tab can be selected for export. You can export either the entire
dataset or a subset of the data.

 Use the Create New Export Function


1 Follow steps 1-3 for adding a survey to the basket.

Note: You can view a summary of your dataset by clicking on the link in the
My Basket window.

2 Right-click on the survey you are interested in.

Note: A full dataset is indicated as follows: while a partial dataset is


indicated by the following icon: .

3 Select the option Export Dataset.

LAS Export

4 Complete the necessary fields then click Submit. Mandatory fields have red
asterisks (*).

Note: You can select from the output directories set up by your administrator.
Please select your output directory with care as this is the location where
the seismic files will be exported.

A message will confirm that the export has been successfully submitted.
5 Close the My Basket window.
6 Navigate to the More tab and select the menu option Organizer.
View the status of your export from the report located in the following directory
Reports\Public Reports\PDS\Seismic Export Job
7 Now you are ready to create your transmittal to send the exported data to the
data manager.

LAS Export
You can carry out an LAS export for your selected curve or log.

 Carry out a LAS Export


1 Select and right click on a log, and the click LAS Export.
2 In the LAS File Export window, click the LAS file link to open the data in MS
Notepad and download to your computer.
3 Click the Log File link, to view and save the file.
4 Click Delete Files to delete the file from the server.
5 Click Close to exit.

Viewing Items on the Map


You can view selected objects on the map with overlapping layers and features
consisting of attributes, symbol, location and geometry.

Select and right click the row and then select ArcGIS Map from the menu

1 Search for the survey or line you wish to view.
2 Select the survey or line by left-clicking it.

4 Use the Full Dataset Selection Tool to select your survey.

5 View Survey Info as appropriate.


6 Add the Survey to the Basket and carry out further workflows as appropriate.

SEG–Y Preview

Using either the Full DataSet Selection or the Polygonal Sub-selection


tool, designate the approximate area of the data you are interested in.
5 Edit the Inline and Xline coordinates for each corner of your selection to
designate the precise data area.
6 Navigate to the 3D Seismic tab and select your data by left-clicking.
7 Review your dataset on the map as appropriate by selecting Show on Map
from the right-click menu.

8 Add the Survey to the Basket to carry out further actions such as exporting and
downloading.

SEG–Y Preview
If you wish to view SEG-Y images for further analysis, SEG-Y Preview is available
from the Lines sub-tab of the Seismic section from the Survey Info page. The
Seismic line is displayed in JPG format with multiple grids to view as an image.

 View SEG-Y Preview


1 Navigate to the Lines sub-tab of the Seismic section.
2 Search for Data as appropriate.
3 Select the desired line(s) and right-click to reveal the right-click menu.
4 Select the option View SEG-Y Preview.

The image is displayed in the viewer.

Note: Click on the thumbnails at the bottom of the SEG-Y Viewer to view a
particular SEG-Y image.

5 Once your analysis is complete close down the viewer and add your survey to
the basket_Adding_Objects_to for download/export if required.
