Unit Topic: Understanding the Communication Process Quarter: First

 Define social interaction and emotional expression as functions of


communication.
 Describe communication strategies for effective social interaction, emotional
expression, and control.
 Identify the nonverbal cues that accompany spoken language toward successful
social interaction and emotional expression.
 Evaluate if a communication strategy is effective or not.

 Describe communication strategies for effective social interaction, emotional
expression, and control.
 Identify the nonverbal cues that accompany spoken language toward successful
social interaction and emotional expression.
 Evaluate if a communication strategy is effective or not.

Day 1 and 2

I. Introduction (Preliminary/Explore)

Opening Routines (4 minutes)

Review (3 minutes)
 The teacher will ask the students to recapitulate the previous lesson that they
have learned. Add some comments after the students summarize the previous
lesson. If there are no more questions and clarifications in the previous lesson,
then the class can already proceed and discuss the topic for today’s lesson.

 Describe communication strategies for effective social interaction.

Motivation (5 minutes)

 The students will play a number game where students will count from 1 up to 100
and they will clap their hands if there are multiple to the number 6. Those who fail
to follow the instruction will be eliminated and they will be the ones who will share
their understanding about the last topic and they will share their assignment to
the class.

II. Interaction (Lesson Development/Firm-Up and Deepen)

 The teacher presents the topic Social Interaction

 The teacher also points out that social interaction is essentially the
way people connect and engage with each other. It's a dynamic,
two-way process that encompasses multiple forms of
communication, both verbal and nonverbal.
Integration (3 minutes)

 The students are led to the realization that social interaction is a


fundamental human need and carries immense importance for
multiple aspects of our lives. It also offers a sense of belonging and
community. We feel connected to others, find support, and build
meaningful relationships. And in emotional well-being: positive
social interactions contribute to feeling happy, loved, and valued. It
boosts our mood, reduces stress, and combats loneliness.

Synthesis/Summary: (2minutes)

 The teacher asks students (volunteers) to give the summary of


what they have learned during the day’s lesson.

Evaluation (10 minutes)

 Formative – Essay.

crucial role in various aspects of our lives, making them incredibly
important for both individuals and society as a whole.

 The teacher also points out that in Nonverbal Cues: The Silent
Symphony of Social Interaction. Spoken language forms the
melody of our interactions, but the nonverbal cues are the rhythm,
harmony, and even orchestration that truly bring meaning and
depth to our communication. These silent signals, ranging from
facial expressions to posture and gestures, play a crucial role in
successful social interaction and emotional expression.
Integration (3 minutes)

 The students are led to the realization that Nonverbal cues are a
powerful language that transcends words. By understanding and
utilizing these silent signals, we can navigate social interactions
with greater confidence, build stronger relationships, and express
our emotions more effectively. Remember, practice makes perfect,
so pay attention to the nonverbal symphony playing around you,
and start composing your own masterpiece!
