operational safety and the protection of people or objects.
The system operator must ensure that the system is only operated in a technically flawless condition.
If there is possible damage, he must immediately have it inspected and repaired by Butzbach GmbH
Industrietore.
The system operator must ensure that the safety notices attached to the door system are
permanently visible.
The system operator must ensure that the safety devices are regularly (i.e. prior to commissioning
and, depending on need, however at least once annually) tested by a professional for proper
functioning. A test report should be kept of these required tests. This test report should be placed in
the door documentation.
In the case of systems with larger glass surfaces, the system operator must ensure that the glass
surfaces (especially at eye level) are made visible in order to avoid people running into the
glass surface (e.g. with stickers). The operator must ensure that this marking is always present to a
sufficient extent.
The operating personnel must fundamentally also heed the following safety notices:
Always ensure that the door leaves are only moved when the wind speed is below the maximum
permitted speed of 45 km/h (depending on the size)!

7 Operation
This chapter shall make the system user familiar with the proper operation of the door system.
When operating the door system, the safety information and warnings in chapters 2 Safety and 3 Other
dangers must absolutely be followed!
The installed main switch fulfils the function of an “isolation device” and simultaneously serves as an
emergency control device (red button on a yellow background) as required by the national applicable
guideline ASR A1.7 (previously BGR 232) for power-operated windows and doors. In the case of control
units with a CEE plug, the plug fulfils the function of an “isolation device”. The protection against the plug
being plugged in again must be provided on-site.
7.1.2 Connection
Make sure that electricity has been disconnected from the control unit when working on the system. Risk
of injury and risk of damage!
Ensure that the main power switch is guarded against being turned back on without authorisation
with a hanging lock and that the CEE plug is guarded against being plugged in.
If multiple people are working on the system, each one must ensure that the main power switch
is secured against being turned on without authorisation.
1. Connect the mains supply line to the input terminals in the switch box (only for control units with direct
connection, see the circuit diagram).
2. If you want to connect additional control devices or photo eyes, proceed according to the circuit
diagram.
In the case of direct three phase current connection to the control unit: Ensure that a positive field of rotation
is connected to the input terminals of the control unit.
For control units with a CEE plug: Ensure that a positive field of rotation is connected to the CEE plug.
7.1.4.2 Optoelectronic sensitive edge (for doors without a door for people)
1. Interrupt the light beam in the rubber profile of the optoelectronic sensitive edge during the closing
movement by lightly pressing on the rubber profile.
2. If the closing movement stops and the door reverses direction, then the door's optoelectronic sensitive
edge is working properly.
After the closing edge is activated, an error message appears in the display that goes away the next time
the door is attempted to be closed.
If the safety edge should not function as described, then the door may not be operated! Immediately notify
the supplier's customer service.
If the door is equipped with an external photo eye or a light curtain for monitoring vehicles driving through it
(optional), then the following function test must be performed:
Note!
The testing of the door's electrical system must take place in accordance with the accident prevention
regulation DGUV Regulation 3 “Electrical systems and operational equipment” Sec. 5 Tests: The company
that is operating the corresponding electrical system or door system has the responsibility for the testing.
They are responsible for both the initial commissioning (initial testing) and for repeat testing due to various
reasons (annual testing, testing after a material change or repair).
Note!
The control unit can be converted to a dead man's switch operation if needed (only by authorised service
personnel). A conversion can only be done by authorised service personnel. Please contact the door
manufacturer or your customer service.
Additional options (e.g. automatic closing) are described in the control unit function description.
Note!
The control unit can be converted to other types of operation (only by authorised service personnel). It
should be noted that additional safety devices are required for this. A conversion can only be done by
authorised service personnel. Please contact the door manufacturer or your customer service.
Additional options (e.g. automatic closing) are described in the control unit function description.
The main switch fulfils the function of an isolation device and simultaneously serves as an EMERGENCY
SHUTOFF device.

The maintenance work on the system should fundamentally only be performed by authorised service
personnel of Butzbach GmbH Industrietore.
ASR A1.7 requires that the annual testing is performed by a qualified individual. The corresponding expert
knowledge of the people tasked with this guarantees that the system is tested properly.
Evidence of the testing should be kept, which is to be continuously posted to the test book.
(e.g. VDE determinations, DIN sheets, technical rules of other member states to the European Economic Area
treaty) in order to be able to determine that the power-operated doors can be safety operated.
Examples of these people are qualified personnel of the manufacturer or delivery companies, the operator's
personnel who have been trained by the manufacturer or other people with corresponding expert knowledge.
Qualified individuals must make their assessment objectively from the perspective of occupational safety
without being influenced by other factors, such as financial.
Caution!
During simulation maintain a distance of at least 1 m from the moving door. Otherwise, there is the risk of
mild injuries and damage.
