 WHAT’S UP NVCIAN’S??? Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Musical
Extravaganza of Panag-indigay Season 4, where the magic of music fills the air and the talent shines
brightly! My name is Lester Gesulga and I’m thrilled to be your host for this wonderful afternoon.
 Today, we have a fantastic lineup that will take you on a journey through the rich tapestry of Filipino
music, showcasing the beauty of Kundiman, thrilling vocal duets, and breathtaking solo performances.
 So, let us not prolong the agony of waiting. Let’s formally start our event. To invoke the spirit of God,
may we all rise for the Doxology and please remain standing for the singing of Philippine National
Anthem.
 You may now be seated.
II. WELCOME ADDRESS
 To formally welcome us in our competition, let us lend our ears to our Socio-Cultural Coordinator,
Maam DONNA MARIE ALCANTARA, LPT for her words of welcome. Let us give her a round of applause.
 Thank you, Ma’am Donna for your welcoming words!
III. COMPETITION PROPER

 Raise your banners and make some noise, Team Kitsune! (Our team Kitsune is composed of students
coming from the psychology and computer and information technology departments or the PSYTECH)
 May I hear the cheer coming from the Team Phoenix! (Our team Phoenix is composed of our Senior
High school students)
 Nasaan naman ang Team Kirin? (Team Kirin is composed of RadioMed students!)
 Syempre, hindi magpapatalo ang Team Siren! (Our Team Siren is composed of students coming from
the Nursing department!)
 Last but never the least, may I hear the cheer coming from the team Nixie! (Our Team Nixie naman is
composed of students coming from the college of social work, pharmacy and education or
SOPHACATION)
 What a great energy coming from our students! I think they’re ready to witness the talents of our
contestants this afternoon.
A. Introduction of the Board of Judges
 Ladies and gentlemen, what an extraordinary afternoon we’ve had so far! As we celebrate the beauty
of Kundiman, the thrill of our duet competition, and the power of solo performances, we are fortunate
to have an esteemed panel of judges who will be guiding us through this musical journey.
 These individuals are not only accomplished in their own right but also share a deep passion for music
and artistry. They will be evaluating our talented performers and providing valuable feedback, so let’s
take a moment to meet them!
 First up, we have our first judge. She finished her Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication in
the year 2011 and her Master of Arts in Language Teaching in the year 2019 at University of Southern
Mindanao. She is currently taking her doctorate degree in Education major in English at University of
Perpetual Help System Dalta. She is a Part-Time College Instructor at Colegio De Kidapawan and also at
Central Mindanao Colleges.

o This year, she was also the champion at Kasunayan Festival Songwriting Contest
o Tawag ng Tanghalan Daily Contender, North Cotabato, Mindanao representative (2019)
o A Fulltime Event Host, Singer, Coordinator, Organizer, and Business Owner
o She is from Manongol, Kidapawan City
o Please welcome, our first judge, MS. ELAINE GRACE OSING-LLAGAS, LPT, MALT
 Next, we are honored to have our second judge. She is 24 years old. She finished her bachelor’s degree
in medical laboratory science at the University of the Immaculate Conception.

o INTRAMURALS Vocal duet CHAMPION in 2017
o INTRAMURALS Acoustic band 2nd place in 2019

o She was also a consecutive CHAMPION in Palit Awit Competition from the year 2019 until 2022.
o Let’s give a warm welcome to our second judge, Ms. Kimberly Queen A. De Leon, RMT
 Last but certainly not the least, we have our third judge. He is 31 years old and a licensed Professional
Teacher. An Accredited Performance and Sports Scientist. A former instructor of Physical Education
and Sports Science at the University of Sourthern Mindanao Main campus. He is currently on-going on
his Master of Arts in Physical Education and Sports at University of Perpetual Help in Las Pinas City. He
was also a former veteran broadcast journalist here in Kidapawan City and Davao City and a talent
manager in radio and talent productions.

o -formerly keyboardist, guitarist, and 2nd lead vocals of the USM Band during 2012-2014
o -former member of the Subdominant Choir of the Ateneo De Davao University
o -keyboardist, arranger and choir master for several catholic parishes in the Diocese of
Kidapawan
o -Head Tenor of the Sermo Chorum Cathedral Choir
o also a coach of USM Main Campus Musical Team for Vocal Pop Solo and Kundiman
o Formerly a resident judge and chairman of the board of judges of the annual USM Pasiklaban
Bandigmaan
o one of the board of judges during the Kabacan Municipal Charter Anniversary Bandigmaan 2023
o ladies and gentlemen, our third judge and the chairman of the board, MR. Archie Orville F.

 Thank you to our wonderful judges for being here this afternoon and for their dedication to fostering
musical talent! Your expertise will undoubtedly elevate this competition and inspire our performers.
 And now, as the judges take their seats, let us first take a moment to understand how each
performance will be evaluated by our esteemed panel of judges.
B. Reading of Criteria for Judging (Kundiman)
 As we know, Kundiman is more than just a song –it is a heartfelt expression of love, passion, and
culture. To honor this tradition, our criteria for judging will ensure that every performer is evaluated
not just on their technical abilities but also on their ability to capture the true essence of Kundiman.
 Here are the criteria for judging:
o Tone Quality (Voice Technique or Intonation) -45%
o Musician (dynamic nuances, interpretation, and diction) -45%
o Deportment -10% -for a total of 100%
 With these criteria, we aim to celebrate not only talent but also the cultural heritage and emotional
richness of Kundiman. We look forward to an afternoon filled with love and music that speaks to the
heart. Good luck to all of our performers, and may the best interpretation of Kundiman shine this
afternoon!
C. KUNDIMAN
 Wag na nating patagalin pa, from Team Kitsune, please help me welcome, Entry #1!
 What a good start coming from the Team Kitsune or the PsyTech! You know, it takes a lot of courage to
perform with a large crowd and I would like to commend our participants this afternoon for sharing
with us their God-given talents. Bigyan naman natin sila ng malakas na palakpak!
 Our entry #2 is coming from the Team Phoenix! Team Phoenix, mag ingay! Please help me welcome,
entry #2!
 What an amazing performance from the Team Phoenix! All out na all out yung support ng ating senior
high department for their contestant!
 At this point, let’s witness the performance from the Team Kirin! Ladies and gentlemen, entry #3!
 Another spectacular performance coming from the Team Kirin or the RadioMed students! We had
already witnessed the performances coming from the three teams. And we have 2 more teams to go!
 Our next performer is from the Team Siren! Now, parinig naman ng cheer from Team Siren! Please
help me welcome, entry #4!

students from the nursing department.
 Now we are down to our last Kundiman performer from the Team Nixie! May I hear the cheer from
team Nixie? Ayan! Readyng ready na din sila! So without further ado, let’s welcome, Entry #5!
 Thank you so much, entry #5 from Team Nixie or the SOPHACATION departments! I am sure, our panel
of judges will be having a tough decision to make this afternoon.
 And that concludes the first set of performances for today! What an incredible display of talent and
passion for Kundiman music. Let’s give another round of applause to all our performers from Entries 1

D. Reading of Criteria for Judging (Vocal Duet)
 At this moment, let’s proceed to our next category which is the Vocal duet competition. Ladies, and
gentlemen, before we proceed with the performances, let’s take a moment to introduce the criteria
that our judges will be using to evaluate each vocal duet. As you know, the talent and artistry in a vocal
duet go beyond individual singing –it’s all about harmony, collaboration, and connection. So, let’s
break down what our esteemed panel will be looking for.
 Here are the criteria for judging:

o Voice quality -40%

o Blending and Harmony -25%
o Diction, timing, and Dynamics -20%
o Interpretation and stage presence -15% -for a total of 100%
E. VOCAL DUET COMPETITION
 Together, these four categories will determine our winners for this afternoon. We trust our judges to
evaluate fairly and thoughtfully, and we wish all our performers the best of luck as they take the stage.
Now, let the competition begin! Starting off with entry #1, Team Kitsune!
 What an exceptional blend of voices coming from entry #1! Their team is also here cheering for their

 What a dynamic and captivating duet from our entry #2! I’m sure proud na proud yung ating teachers
and also our students from Senior high school department.
 Now at this point, let’s get ready to hear the vocal duet coming from the Team Kirin! Team Kirin, sound
your cheers and let’s welcome entry #3!
 Wow that was an amazing performance coming from the Team Kirin our entry #3. So far, wala talagang
gustong magpatalo sa ating mga contenders this afternoon. Lahat sila lumalamon ng microphone and
I’m sure, our next contender from Team Siren will do the same too. Team Siren, make a noise and let’s
welcome entry #4!
 That was another incredible performance from the team Siren our entry #4. Ladies and gentlemen, we
have just witnessed the performance of entry #4 and now, we are down to our last contenders.
Syempre, lalaban din for their spot ang ating team Nixie! Team Nixie, shout your voices out and let’s
welcome, entry #5!
 What a stunning performance coming from the Team Nixie or the SOPHACATION departments! So,
that concludes our five performances for the vocal duet competition. Thank you to all our amazing
duets for sharing their incredible talent with us this afternoon! Palakpakan naman natin sila.

 I would also like to grab this opportunity to thank our assigned technical officals and supreme student
council officers for their efforts to make Musical Extravaganza a successful event.
F. Reading of criteria for Judging (Vocal Solo concert)
 Now, we are moving on to the last part of our event which is the VOCAL SOLO CONCERT. Before we
begin, i would like to go over the criteria our esteemed judges will be using to evaluate each
performance. This will give both our audience and contestants a clear understanding of what is being
looked for in each vocal solo performance.
 Our judges will be scoring each performer on the following criteria:
o VOICE QUALITY -40%
o DICTION, TIMING, AND DYNAMICS -25%
o MUSICALITY -20%
o INTERPRETATION AND STAGE PRESENCE -15% -FOR A TOTAL OF 100%
 Each of these criteria will be scored individually and the total score will determine the winner. We
encourage each contestant to give it their all and, most importantly, to have fun and enjoy the stage!

G. VOCAL SOLO CONCERTS

 What a spectacular performance coming from Team Phoenix or the Senior High school department.
Hindi rin talaga nagpapahuli ang ating senior high students. Up next, magpapakitang gilas na ang ating
next contender from RadioMed or Team Kirin. Let’s give it up to entry #3!
 What a fantastic vocal solo concert from our entry #3! Talaga nga namang napakahusay ng ating
contenders for Musical extravaganza for this Panag-indigay season 4. Each of our contender this
afternoon captivated the audience with their incredible talent. Indeed, it was a joy to witness their
passion for music. Next up, we have our another contender coming from the nursing department or
Team Siren. Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome, entry #4.
 Well done, entry #4. We have just witnessed another spectacular performance from Team Siren. I
would also like to say bravo to all the performers. Each of you took us on an unforgettable musical
journey with your beautiful solos. Now, we are down to our last contender this afternoon. And i know,
readyng ready na magcheer ang Team Nixie! So without further ado, let’s welcome, our last contender,
entry #5!
 What an incredible performance from our entry #5. And that’s a wrap for our performances for the
music extravaganza this afternoon. What an incredible afternoon it has been. I would like to take this
moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our amazing contenders. This event wouldn’t have
been the same without your energy, creativity, and artistry. You’ve inspired us all, and we are beyond
grateful for your efforts. Whether today was your first performance or one of many, you should all be
incredibly proud of yourselves.
H. GIVING OF CERTIFICATE OF COMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF JUDGES
 But before we move on, we would like to take this moment to acknowledge and thank the people who
had the toughest job this afternoon –our esteemed board of judges. Our board of judges has dedicated
their time, expertise, and discerning eyes and ears to ensure that the best talents are recognized this
afternoon. It’s not easy being in their position, but they have done an outstanding job, and for that, we
are deeply grateful.
 At this time, we would like to present them with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their
invaluable contribution to the success of our musical extravaganza.

had an incredibly tough time deciding because each and every one of you brought something unique to
the stage. So sino kaya ang tatanghaling winners for our Kundiman, Vocal duet competition, and vocal
solo concert this afternoon? Ang team Kitsune ba or the Psytech? Is it the team Phoenix or the senior
high school department? Will it be the team Kirin or the RadioMed students? Nasa team siren ba or

KUNDIMAN
 And now, it’s time to announce the winners of our Kundiman singing competition!
 Let’s begin with our 3rd place winner. This contestant captivated us with their heartfelt rendition of a

 Moving on to our second place winner. Their performance was truly memorable, with every note
reflecting the deep emotion of the kundiman. The second place winner is.... Congratulations!
 And finally, the champion of our Kundiman, the one who truly embodied the essence of Kundiman in
their performance. With their incredible vocal talent and heartfelt delivery, our Kundiman champion

 Once again, congratulations to our winners and contestants for Kundiman singing competition.
VOCAL DUET
 Now, moving on to the announcing of winners of Vocal duet competition. I can feel the excitement in
the air as we get ready to reveal our top three duos. The energy, the passion, and the harmony each
duo brought to the stage truly made this competition a memorable one. But as with all competitions,
we have to choose the winners.
 And now, let’s proceed to the top winners of vocal duet competition. Your performance was truly
outstanding and you’ve earned your spot in the top three! Congratulations....
 Moving on to the 2nd place... this duo captured our hearts with their soulful rendition and flawless vocal
blending. The 2nd place goes to.... Congratulations!
 And now, the champion of our vocal duet competition! This duo commanded the stage with
confidence, grace, and an undeniable talent. Ladies and gentlemen, our champion for vocal duet
competition is no other than,.... Congratulations! Your performance was nothing short of spectacular,
and you’ve truly earned this top honor.
VOCAL SOLO CONCERT
 At this moment, let’s move on to the last category of music extravaganza which is the vocal solo
concert.
