What is the difference between
Covariance and Correlation

Covariance only measures the direction of


relationship between two variables. It tells about
whether the two variables are positively correlated
or negatively correlated. However, correlation tells
about the direction as well as the strength of the
relationship between two variables.

Range of correlation is between -1 to +1, but range
of covariance can upto infinity.

What is Selection bias ?
When sampling is done in a manner where it is not
random and the sample selected is not a
representative of the entire population, that
phenomenon is called selection bias.

certain part of the population which affects the
collection of sample and as a result, affects the
accuracy of a model.

How do you train-test
split in Time series data ?
The time series data should be split into
chronological sets or sequential manner.

Since observations in time series are dependent on


the previous observation, randomly splitting data
would’t result in a correct training dataset.

What is the relationship
between mean and median
in a normal distribution?

Since a normal distribution is a symmetric


distribution, the mean, median and mode coincide.

Central Limit Theorem ?
