Project Title: “A Study on Portfolio Management and Investment”

In order to keep the Investor safe from market fluctuation and make them profitable, Portfolio
Management Services (PMS) is fast gaining Investment Option for the High Networth Individual
(HNI). There is growing competition between brokerage firms in post reform India.
For investor it is always difficult to decide which brokerage firm to choose.
Portfolio management involves the strategic management of a collection of financial assets,
known as a portfolio, to achieve specific investment objectives. The primary goals are to optimize
returns while considering the level of risk an investor is willing to tolerate. Investment portfolios
typically consist of a mix of asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, and cash equivalents, to diversify
risk and enhance overall performance. The process includes asset allocation, where investments
are distributed among different categories, and ongoing monitoring and adjustments to ensure the
portfolio aligns with the investor's financial goals and risk tolerance. Successful portfolio
management requires a keen understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and risk factors.
Investors may also employ various strategies, such as active or passive management, to navigate
market conditions. Ultimately, effective portfolio management is essential for individuals and
institutions seeking to build and preserve wealth through well-informed and strategic investment
decisions.

1.1 Objective of the Study:


 To know about the awareness towards stock brokers and share market.
 To study whether people are satisfied with the Fundsroom services and Management
or not. 
 To study about the need of improvement in existing Trading system. 
1.2 Need of the Study:
 Need of the study is to understand the current position of Fundsroom in the market.
 In this study attempts are made to discover the needs and preference of the investors.

1.3 Scope of the Study:


 The scope of study is to find out the Fundsroom, PMS effectiveness in the current
situation.
 The scope of the study is to lookout for new prospective customers who are willing to
invest in PMS.

1.4 Timeline of the Project:


 The project commenced on 24st July,2023 and completed on 22th September,2023.

1.5 Research Methodology:


 Research done using Research Design Descriptive Research, Primary Data Collection
and Secondary Data collection from (Internet, other stock market analysis sites).

1.6 Data Analysis & Interpretation:


 Analyze the awareness of share market and stock broker.
 Analyze the reason for using Fundsroom services.
 Analyze the level of satisfaction from Fundsroom PMS services. 

1.7 Limitation of the Study:
 The data is limited to small group of population.
 The study is based on primary and secondary data. Hence, limited scope of information
and potential bias in the data collection may affect the accuracy of the result of the study.


1.8 Learning from the Project:
 I have learned about the basic purpose of investment of investors.
 I learned about the risk tolerance level of investors.
 I have learned about factors effecting the investment decisions.

 I was tasked with opening demat accounts for our clients. This enhanced my communication
skills.

 I was also responsible for preparing portfolio allotment reports for our clients. This task
required analyzing their financial goals, risk tolerance and market conditions.

 Throughout my internship I had the privilege of working under the guidance of experienced
professionals in the portfolio management team who provided me deeper understanding of
the financial markets.

4.1 INTRODUCTION
Descriptive Research Design method was used for the project. Primary data and Secondary data
were acquired from various sources to analyze the use of Portfolio Management Services by
investors.

To carry out this project primary data is collected through questionnaire.


Secondary data is used for collection of data(such as journals, newspaper, websites of Fundsroom).

4.2 Research design


In this study my focus is to understand investors behavior regarding portfolio management
services.

4.3 Sampling design


This report is based on primary as well secondary data, however primary data collection was given
more importance since it is overhearing factor in attitude studies. One of the most important users of
research methodology is that it helps in identifying the problem, collecting, analyzing the required
information data and providing an alternative solution to the problem.

4.3.1 Sampling Type


Project selects a random group of people for the study from a larger group of population.

4.3.2 Sampling Method


In this study random sampling and non-probability sampling method was chosen.

4.3.3 Sampling size


The sample size for this projects report has been kept limited to the number of 70 respondents.
On the basis of the information revealed by these respondents the data has been collected
analyzed and interpreted.
4.4 Data collection
Data has been collected by means of Primary and Secondary Sources.

A) Primary Data: For the Present study primary data is collected through Questionnaire.

B) Secondary Data: Secondary data has been collected through various Publications like books,
newspapers, web, Reports, etc.

INTERPRETATION:

As the above analysis gives the clear idea that most of the Investors considered the market factor as
around 20% for Risk and 28.6% Return, but most important common things in all are that they are
even ready for taking both Risk and Return in around 51.4% investor.

17.1% being professionals, while the rest were from various other backgrounds.
 Wealth creation was the primary goal for 65.7% of respondents, 11.4% focused on retirement
planning, 0.05% on education funding, and 17.1% had other goals.
 Mutual funds were of interest to 32.4% of respondents, 41.2% preferred shares, and 17.6%
chose fixed deposits, with others opting for bonds and different investment options.
 Most investors considered market factors as 20% for risk and 28.6% for return, with 51.4%
expressing readiness for both risk and return.
 34.3% of respondents wanted to monitor their investment portfolios daily, 22.9% weekly, 34.3%
monthly, and 8.6% quarterly.
 Fundsroom was used by 42.9% for investment tips, 20% for research, 22.9% for service, and
14.3% for other reasons.
 Among Fundsroom clients, 51.4% used Portfolio Management Services (PMS) for their
investment option.
 Satisfaction with Fundsroom's PMS services varied: 25.7% were very satisfied, 37.1% were
satisfied, and 27.1% were neutral.
 82.9% of respondents believed that Fundsroom keeps its PMS transparent, while 17.1%
disagreed.
 Risk tolerance levels varied among respondents, with 25.7% having a high tolerance, the
majority having a medium tolerance, and others having a low tolerance when making
investment decisions through Fundsroom.
 82.4% of respondents would recommend Fundsroom PMS to others, while 17.6% would not.

 Fundsroom attracts diverse clients, including a significant number of students, business


professionals, and individuals from various backgrounds.
 The company's emphasis on wealth creation aligns with the primary goal of 65.7% of
respondents.
 Fundsroom needs to cater to diverse investment preferences, considering the interest in mutual
funds, shares, and fixed deposits.
 The observation that 51.4% of clients use Portfolio Management Services (PMS) indicates a
demand for personalized investment management.
 Positive satisfaction rates (25.7% very satisfied, 37.1% satisfied) and an 82.9% perceived
transparency contribute to client trust.
 Recognizing varying risk tolerance levels is crucial for Fundsroom to tailor investment
strategies to individual preferences.
 The high recommendation rate of 82.4% suggests strong client loyalty and potential for organic

while investing in the stock market.

o Investors must feel safe about their money invested.

o Investor’s accounts must be more transparent as compared to other companies.

o Fundsroom limited must try to promote more its Portfolio Management Services

through Advertisements.

o Fundsroom needs to improve more it’s Customer Services

o There is need to change in lock in period in all three PMS i.e. Protech, Proprime, Pro

Arbitrage.

o Establish a structured feedback mechanism to gather insights and adapt services to

evolving client needs and preferences.

with the primary goal of wealth creation resonates with the majority of respondents, showcasing a
strategic focus. The need to cater to diverse investment preferences, including mutual funds, shares,
and fixed deposits, underscores the importance of offering a broad range of investment options.

The observation that over half of clients use Portfolio Management Services (PMS) signals a demand
for personalized investment management, affirming the relevance and appeal of these services. Positive
satisfaction rates and high perceived transparency contribute positively to client trust, indicating a
strong foundation for customer relations. Recognizing the variance in risk tolerance levels emphasizes
the importance of tailoring investment strategies to meet individual preferences.

The high recommendation rate suggests strong client loyalty, indicative of potential organic growth.
However, the company should consider organizing seminars and educational activities to enhance
customer knowledge, fostering a sense of comfort in stock market investments. Ensuring the safety of
investors' money, improving transparency in accounts, promoting PMS through advertisements, and
enhancing customer services are crucial areas for improvement. Changes in lock-in periods for PMS
and the establishment of a structured feedback mechanism further demonstrate a commitment to
adaptability and continuous improvement.

In conclusion, Fundsroom stands at a pivotal juncture where addressing these suggestions could solidify its
position, improve client satisfaction, and foster sustainable growth in the competitive financial services
landscape.
