ANALYSIS AND CONCULSION
Below are the key considerations:

1. Desk Height (76.7 cm):

• Comparison: The desk height should be compatible with the students' elbow height sitting and popliteal height. For
males, the mean elbow height sitting is approximately 25 cm, and for females, it is approximately 22.96 cm. The
popliteal height for males is 44 cm, and for females, it is 42.46 cm.

• Comment: The desk height is significantly higher than the students' elbow and popliteal heights. This might cause
discomfort, leading to improper posture and strain. A height-adjustable desk would be more suitable.

2. Desk Depth (30.3 cm):

• Comparison: The desk depth should allow sufficient space for writing or using a laptop. This is typically related to
buttock-popliteal length. For males, the average is 46 cm, and for females, it is 43.6 cm.

• Comment: The desk depth (30.3 cm) is smaller than the students' buttock-popliteal length, which may limit comfort
and workspace utility.

3. Desk Length (255.2 cm):

• Comment: This dimension seems adequate, as it provides sufficient space for multiple students to work simultaneously.
However, the exact number of students sharing the desk should be considered.
4. Bench Height (42.1 cm):

• Comparison: The bench height should align with the popliteal height to ensure proper sitting posture. For males, the
mean is 44 cm, and for females, it is 42.46 cm.

• Comment: The bench height is suitable for females but slightly lower for males. A slight adjustment or a height range
for the bench would improve suitability.

5. Bench Depth (26.8 cm):

• Comparison: The bench depth should correspond to the buttock-popliteal length. For males, the average is 46 cm, and
for females, it is 43.6 cm.

• Comment: The bench depth is insufficient for both males and females, potentially causing discomfort or inadequate
support.

6. Backrest Height (38.2 cm):

• Comparison: The backrest height should support at least two-thirds of the sitting eye height. For males, the mean is 76
cm, and for females, it is 69.3 cm.

• Comment: The backrest height is too low to provide adequate support for the students. A higher backrest or adjustable
support would be preferable.
7. Footrest Height (0 cm):

• Comment: A footrest is recommended, especially for shorter students, to support their legs comfortably and avoid
dangling feet. Adjustable footrests would cater to various heights.

8. Distance Between Desk and Bench (28.2 cm):

• Comparison: This distance should accommodate the students' thigh thickness and allow comfortable leg movement.
For males, the average thigh thickness is 15.3 cm, and for females, it is 14.3 cm.

• Comment: The distance seems adequate, allowing space for comfortable leg movement.

9. Thickness (3.5 cm):

• Comment: The desk thickness should not interfere with leg space or knee clearance. This value is reasonable.

The workstation dimensions are partially suitable but would require adjustments to accommodate the range of students
comfortably.

• Recommendations:

1. Height-adjustable desks and benches.

2. Increased desk and bench depths to match the students' anthropometric dimensions.

3. Addition of a footrest and higher backrests for ergonomic support.

4. Ensure appropriate desk slope and backrest slope for improved posture.
