Online Service System (OSS)

What is OSS Note?


- OSS stands for Online Service System means service accessible through internet.
- OSS Notes is part of online SAP service portal that provides up to date information on SAP Note.
- It frequently releases bug fixes, patches, new program developments or enhancement and other
different update by SAP.
- It provides a list of collection of NOTES for SAP objects.
- Transaction code SNOTE used to implement OSS note.
- It is no longer necessary to manually register ABAP object like report, function module etc. with
the SNOTE transaction.
- In OSS data dictionary, screens, table must be manually modified.
- SAP note downloaded (PDF File) either from SAP portal or SAP transaction SNOTE.
- SAP note number uniquely identifies the note in SAP OSS notes database.

SAP Note Form of-


1. Program code fix
2. Screen design changes
3. Table field additions
4. Message class update
5. Enhancement addition
6. Remove existing code and upgrade

Step 1: By SAP Transaction


Tcode (SNOTE)

Enter note number  for download perform below steps

Click on download SAP note

Enter SAP note number-

Click on execute icon  Continue (pop-up).

Click on Goto  SAP Note browser

2 By- K. Sri Sai Vignesh


Type SAP note number

Execute  Check SAP note status

Status shows like-

1. Can be implemented-
Code correction in it and need to apply that will resolve issue.
2. Cannot be implemented -
No code correction.
3. Completely Implemented-
No action required.
4. Incompletely Implemented -
Partially implemented, need to implement remain steps
5. Obsolete-
SAP corrected note that contain error, need to implement this note again.
6. Obsolete version implemented-
No action required
7. Undefined implemented status-
Status not clear.

Note: Go to SAP Launchpad  Open note check pre manual activity of software component

Step 2: Apply the SAP Note

Select the SAP Note

Click on SAP Note  Implement SAP Note

IF Manual activity completed click on right sign

Continue  Activate all the object  Yes (pop-up- confirmation manual action)

Change request number  Click on create request icon

Enter short description click on save

Confirm pop-up will appear  click continue
