To do this, you need to change your shell program.

The easiest way to change your shell program, is by using instantsheller. You can
download instantsheller here:

Instantsheller gives you a number of options to set, not all of them are essential:

* Application to Shell; your full path to retrofe.exe (Essential)


* Boot Logo (Optional, and only works on certain windows versions, will be greyed
out if it’s not compatible with yours)
* Turn Off Windows Event Sounds (Optional)
* Replace Cursors with Dots (Optional, but good for hiding them entirely)
* Hide Startup, Login Shutdown Screens and Set Auto Login (optional, but useful for
skipping all windows branding, if you use a password to login, you will need to
press the provided button to set it)
* Change Shell only for current user (Optional)
* Change Shell Application (Essential)

You must replace the windows shell with retrofe.exe in the core directory
(/core/retrofe.exe). CoinOPS is technically a wrapper, and shell programs must be a
proper executable - choosing the CoinOPS launcher exe will not work.

Once you’re all set, click “I am ready, do it!” this will set the relevant windows
registry settings and will give you a success message, DO NOT REBOOT YET!!

CoinOPS uses relative paths inside the CoinOPS directory to tell retrofe.exe where
everything is. Without the CoinOPS wrapper you need to edit these launchers to use
the absolute path to your emulators.

Inside your CoinOPS folder, open the launchers.windows folder and edit all your
config files to use a full path to the emulator exe’s.

E.G: for MAME:

Change:
executable = emulators\MAME\mame.exe
To:
executable = C:\CoinOPS Forgotten Worlds 2.5 GOLD\emulators\MAME\mame.exe
(use the right drive letter and folder path for your own setup, and CoinOPS
version)
You need to repeat this for every launcher to ensure that all the systems will
work.

You can now shut down windows. When you reboot, you should go straight into
CoinOPS.

To exit back into windows to administer your cab, simply press Ctrl+Alt+Del and
access the task manager. End the retroFE.exe process, press alt and use the menu to
start a new task. Type explorer.exe and hit enter.

You should now be back in the windows interface.

If you want to undo the shell process, simply run instantsheller again, click Undo,
wait, then reboot your machine once you get a success message.
