Scholarship opportunities under Erasmus+

CAN I PURSUE A BACHELOR DEGREE UNDER ERASMUS+?

No. At Bachelor level, Erasmus+ funds only short-term studies in Europe, but in the country profiles you can find links
to the websites of the country of your choice where you can search for study programmes at Bachelor level and find
out about how to apply.

Short-term studies = International credit mobility

WHAT IS ICM: Your university may have an Erasmus+ agreement with a European university. In this case, you can
spend part of your study period (at Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate level) at the European partner institution. The
partnership provides EU funds for your travel and living-costs during these short-term studies in Europe.

TUITION FEES: You will be exempted from fees for tuition, registration, examinations, and charges for accessing
laboratories or libraries at the receiving institution. Small fees for insurance or student union membership may still
apply.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: As an Erasmus+ student, you may receive an Erasmus+ grant covering your monthly
subsistence costs. This contribution is between 800 EUR and 900 EUR, depending on the cost of living in the
Programme Country. You may also receive a contribution to your travel costs.

HOW TO APPLY: You can apply through the international or Erasmus+ office of your higher education institution. Get
in touch with them to see what arrangement your university has and which study programmes are open for mobility.
Full degree programme at Master level = Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters

HOW TO APPLY: You need to consult the online Catalogue (https://ec.europa.eu/erasmus-mundus )and contact the
consortium offering the Master Course for more information on courses and application procedures.
You can filter by fields, countries, universities, etc. to ease the search. The platform describes the Master programmes
in detail and is constantly updated by the universities.

To learn about the application process to a particular Master programme, we advise you to read the information on
their website, and contact the coordinating university if you have further questions. As each master programme has
different selection criteria, unfortunately we cannot offer guidance on these issues.

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: The vast majority of Master courses are taught in English. You’ll also have the chance
to enroll in tailor-made language courses, which will add to your skills and improve your employability.

WHEN: Applications for studies starting in September 2023 will open in late 2022 via an updated Catalogue -

HOW MANY EMJMs CAN I APPLY FOR?: These programmes are based on excellence, and therefore have specific
requirements, which often respond to specialised profiles. While there is no formal restriction in the number of
applications you might submit, we generally recommend you to choose carefully the master courses based on the
preconditions/selection criteria described on the websites of the respective Master Programmes.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: As an Erasmus Mundus student, you will receive a monthly scholarship of up to 1 400 EUR,
which will cover travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs.
