1. Executive Summary
The purpose of the report is to propose and highlight the process of implementation of
Mobile technology solutions for Suncharge Solar Carports. SunCharge, a prominent
Australian company focused on advancing the adoption of solar-power batteries in the
international sector of automobiles, is leaving on a transformational journey. With a vision to
pioneer advancing solutions in the rapidly developing transportation industry, SunCharge
works in two primary divisions: the development of smart solar carports for residential
customers and emergency breakdown support for electric vehicle owners. The challenges that
are faced by SunCharge include the requirement for productive management of scheduling,
material procurement, and progress of the project in both divisions. To address these
challenges, SunCharge is proposing the execution of mobile technology solutions. These
solutions intend to improve customer experiences, streamline internal processes, and
empower the company's competitive position.

The Smart Solar Carports Development Application is intended to empower

homeowners with the capacity to schedule carport installations whenever the timing is ideal
for them, track development progress in real-time, make secure payments, and access in-
application customer support. Also, an Emergency Breakdown Support Application will offer
stranded electric vehicle owners the capability to demand assistance, track service vehicle
arrivals, communicate with service providers, and give feedback on their experiences.
SunCharge aims to distinguish itself in the electric vehicle service market by focusing on
easy-to-understand mobile applications that promote ease of use and accessibility.

The scope of the solution covers customer involvement, order management, planning,
payment processing, contractor management, emergency breakdown support, and reporting.
By executing these solutions, SunCharge aims to improve resource allocation, save time,
enhance customer relationships, and scalability for future development. To reduce these risks,
SunCharge should practice cautious management. About delivery options, choosing between
in-house hosting and outsourcing is vital. In-house offers more control yet greater costs,
while outsourcing gives cost-productivity and ability to control. The recommendation is to
outsource development and maintain control while limiting costs. The Agile Methodology is
suggested for its flexibility and alignment with customer-centric objectives. In the end,
SunCharge's mobile solutions are fundamental for success in the electric vehicle market,
offering streamlined work and positioning as a sustainable transportation leader.

2. Introduction
SunCharge is a well-known company that is headquartered in Australia and is
strongly committed to converting the global automobile sector into solar power battery-
charged vehicles. SunCharge has a strong vision for itself as pioneering in the sector that
offers innovative solutions to remain competent in the rapidly evolving market, as the world
is continuously shifting towards sustainable options in diverse fields specifically in
transportation. The two main divisions that have been identified for SunCharge are building
solar carports for local consumers for which the company has the plan to furnish innovative
smart carports for charging electric vehicles as these are fully equipped with solar panels that
are integrated into the roof of these ports, especially for residential consumers (SunCharge
Port, 2023). The carports not only serve as a convenient method for the house owners to
charge their vehicles but also take part in promoting sustainable solar energy.

As the majority of the population is moving towards electric vehicles, SunCharge

therefore offers breakdown support in emergencies for those individuals who are stranded
because of their low-quality batteries (ICCT, 2020). The system will involve prompt response
times, good assistance, and continuous coordination with the LSPs, these processes make
sure that the stranded consumers will quickly resolve their issues and resume their journeys.
Sun Charge acknowledges that the divisions of its business can complement each other in a
good and efficient way. For example, EV owners who take advantage of emergency
breakdown service may become more interested in smart solar carport solutions offered by
SunCharge.

3. Problem Statement
SunCharge perceives the need to smooth out its business operations to accomplish
productive delivery of services to customers while overseeing internal processes effectively.
The core of this project is the integration of mobile technology into different aspects of the
business (Liang, Huang, Lin, & Yeh, 2019). The difficulties SunCharge faces can be summed
up as follows:

In both of the divisions of its business, SunCharge needs to oversee scheduling,

ordering of materials, and follow-up of project progress in an efficient manner. For the smart
solar carport division, this involves scheduling installation appointments, ordering necessary
materials, and tracking development progress (Al-Qahtani, Al-Ghamdi, Al-Abdulwahab, &
Al-Sharif, 2020). Besides this, the emergency breakdown support division needs to answer
Business Operations Report 5

quickly to service requests, track the areas of stranded vehicles, and ensure consistent
coordination between stranded customers and service providers. SunCharge needs to
emphasize the quality of the customer experience to prevail in the very aggressive market for
electric car service (Alanazi, 2023). SunCharge can separate itself when ease of use and
accessibility are extremely important by offering customers mobile applications that are
natural to utilize.

An important aspect of SunCharge's smart solar carport division is efficient contractor

management. The division utilizes imaginative innovation and state-of-the-art building
processes to develop solar carports, yet it likewise intensely depends on subcontractors.
Several important factors should be considered to execute the project effectively: Open and
clear communication channels between SunCharge and subcontractors are fundamental
(Gamil & Rahman, 2023). Customary meetings, updates, and feedback mechanisms ought to
be established to address any issues. The strategy ensures that everybody is in total agreement
about project objectives and timelines.

5. Delivery Options
There are two main delivery options for the mobile technology solutions for
SunCharge Solar Carport, which are In-House hosting and outsourcing (Biermeier & Tynan,
2023). There are some pros and cons of these delivery options as well which can be discussed
as, In-house hosting can take complete control over the process of development, its
customization, and the management of the project data. SunCharge can easily monitor and
control of security of data measures that ensure the protection of the delicate information of
its customers. On the other hand, In-House hosting requires the setting up of the
infrastructure and development team which could be costly and includes the hiring of skilled
professionals and obtaining the hardware and software that are necessary for the process
(Golightly, Chang, & Liu, 2022). It could require the maintenance of the in-house team that
requires ongoing investments for training, salaries, and for maintaining infrastructure.

The second delivery option that SunCharge for mobile technology solutions the
outsourcing its services sometimes proves cost-effective as SunCharge would be able to
avoid the initial expenditure that is associated with the development of In-house
Business Operations Report 10

infrastructure. The outsourcing process also has pros as the outsourcing companies have
skilled expertise in the development of an app that reduces the risk of issues that are related
to development (RiskOptics, 2023). Besides these outsourcing for SunCharge might have
limited control over the development process, which might impact the customization of the
app and decision-making process. SunCharge is dependent on external factors that might
affect the timelines of the project as it relies on the third-party vendor for means of
development.

The recommendation for the delivery option is outsourcing SunCharge mobile

application development to a renowned third-party firm. The approach combines cost-
effectiveness and the availability to access the skills that are specialized. SunCharge can be
able to maintain control over the project management, which ensures that the finalized
product strictly aligns with the vision of the SunCharge solar carports (Hemavathi &
Shinisha, 2022). Such a strategy is particularly acceptable for starting up with a limited
budget and the demand for prompt development and deployment. Surcharge Solar Carports
should consider a strategy that is particularly budget-friendly to grow in the rapidly evolving
timeframe of the contemporary world.
