Perfect Guru–Shishya Relationship
The essence of a true “Guru–Shishya Relationship” is what I believe
in and I have always tried to emulate this essence by incorporating
it within our system.
I shall try to set the clock back to the old times, and re-live the memories of school days,
remembering our favorite teacher-student moments. The tradition of ‘Guru-Shishya’ in our

on from a teacher (Guru) to student (Shishya), a mentor to seeker.

disciples to imbibe knowledge as per their caliber and help them develop the indispensable

and listen to others. I always try to create a welcoming learning environment for all
students.

the classroom. The mutual respect in my classroom provides a supportive,
collaborative environment. In this small community, there are rules to follow and
jobs to be done and each student is aware that he or she is an important, integral
part of the group. A great teacher lets students know that they can depend not only
on her, but also on the entire class.

• I always try to be warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring
towards students. I am always approachable, not only to students, but to
their parents as well. Students always come to me with any problems or concerns
or even to share a funny story. Great teachers possess good listening skills and take
time out of their way-too-busy schedules for anyone who needs them. If I am having
a bad day, no one ever knows, I always leave my personal baggage outside the
classroom doors.
• I always set high expectations for all students. I realize that the
expectations I will have for my students greatly affect my achievement; I know that
students generally give to teachers as much or as little as is expected of them.

According to my teaching experiences, almost every student has doubts/queries while
revising the topic or doing home assignments. Some students have few doubts while some
may have many doubts. I have a seamless mechanism to address individual doubts. After
batch lectures, small group discussions are conducted and if still requirement of individual
doubt remedies arise, we arrange one-to-one sessions as per the faculty timings and student
request.

Regular Motivational Sessions – Stay at your best
Conquering any major uphill task in one’s life starts with self-confidence, believing in own
abilities and having faith in hard-working capabilities. Once you start believing, half task is
already done. To get the best possible outcome, it is necessary to stay energized. I make
sure to provide periodic morale boosters to the students by conducting regular
motivational sessions.
SWOT – Reality Checks
SWOT analysis means Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat Analysis. Deep analysis
of test performance helps us in alarming students early about their weak areas. This will
help immensely to students as it will give them sufficient time to work on and avoid last
minute hiccups or unexpected results. Nobody is perfect and accepting shortcomings as
early as possible to work upon them, makes sure that students get best possible results.
