The Router
Connect two networks using one router.
Connecting two networks using two routers.
Connect three networks using three routers.

The Router:
Router is a device that connects two or more packet-switched subnetworks.
It serves two primary functions: managing traffic between these networks by
forwarding intended data packets to Internet addresses, and allowing multiple
devices to use the same IP connection.
As it connects devices together on a local area network (LAN) and allows them
to connect to the Internet, it is a more advanced device than a switch or hub
because it can direct traffic between different networks.

• Router
• Connection copper
• Pc-pt2
• Laptop2
• We connect 2 computers with the first switching device, then we give this
network IP addresses starting from
192.168.1.0, where we give the first computer 192.168.1.1 and the second
192.168.1.2.
• We repeat the same steps with the other switching device, where we
connect it to 2 computers and give IP addresses starting from 192.168.2.0
• We connect the switch device to the router. When connecting, we choose
the port to be connected to in the router, where
For the first ported switch we choose GigabitEthernet0/0 and for the other
switch we choose GigabitEthernet0/1
• From the router settings, we choose config. We choose the first port, turn it
on, and put in it an address belonging to the network 192.168.1.0.
• We repeat the same steps and choose the second port and set the address
for the second network 192.168.2.1
• The last step in computer settings is to put the link address that was used in
the router in the default gateway option
• We test the connection by sending a message from one computer to another
computer in the other network.

1- We connect the three computers using the first switch, giving the IP
address 192.168.1.1 to the router on this network, 192.168.1.5 to the
first computer, and 192.168.1.6 to the other.
2- The two computers are connected by another switch and the router
on that network is set with the IP address 192.168.2.1 and the first
computer is 192.168.2.5 and the other is 192.168.2.6.
3- Then the three computers are connected by another switch and the
router is set on that network with the IP address 192.168.3.1 and the
first computer is 192.168.3.5 and the other is 192.168.3.6.
4- The first router on that network is assigned the IP address
192.168.4.1, the pull router 192.168.4.2, and three routers
192.168.4.3.
5- After setting up the Ethernet IP port on the router, we enable the
port status and wait for the network to boot.
6- When a message is sent from one computer to another, the switch
sends it to the router. The router analyzes it and forwards it to the
correct device (target)
Third - Practical application:
Fourth - Conclusion:
It can be concluded that routers play a crucial role in directing data traffic
between different networks. They are needed to connect devices on a local
network to the Internet and provide services such as network address
translation (NAT) and firewall protection to secure the network.
