MANUAL (ESC194)

B.TECH 1ST YEAR

ASSIGNMENT-1

1))The arca of aficld is 50000m², length and breadth of the field on this drawing sheet is 10cm
and 8cm respectively. Construct a diagonal scale which reads upto 400 meters. What is R.F. of
the scale? Mark a distance of 235 meters and 324 meters on the scale.

2) A circular wheel of diametcr 35mm rolls on a straight line on the ground without slipping. A
point 'A' lies on the rim of the wheel. Draw the locus of point 'A' for one revolution of the
wheel. Draw the tangent and nomal at point P on the curve.
3) A circle of 50mm diameter rolls on the circumference of another circle of 175mm diameter
and outside it. Trace the locus of apoint on the circumference of the rolling circle for one
complete revolution. Name the curve. Draw a tangent and normal at point P on the curve.

4) A rolling circle of diameter 25mm rolls inside another base circle of radius 100mm. Draw the
curve traced by a point on the rolling circle for one complete revolution. Draw a tangent and
nomal at point P on the curve.

5) An inelastic string 145mm long has its one end attached to the circumference of acircular
disc of 40mm diameter. Draw the curve traced out by the other end of the string, when it is
completely wound around the disc, keeping the string always tight. Draw a tangent and normal at
point P on the curve.

ASSIGNMENT-2
1) A square prism (base 40mm, height 65mm) has its axis inclined at 45 to the ground and
parallel to V.P. The edge of the base which is nearest to the ground level is 10mm above the
ground. Draw its, F.V., T.V. &LSV view using 1" angle projection method.
2) Draw the F.V., T.V. and either LSV or RSV of a right regular hexagonal pyramid, axis height
80mm and side of base 50mm. One side of base is inclined at 45° to V.P. Use 3rd angle
projection method.

3) A right regular pentagonal prism, edge of base, 25 mm and height 55 mm rest on an edge of
its base in HP such that its axis is parallel to VP and inclined to HP at 45°. Draw the projections
of solid.

4) A right circular cylinder, diameter of base 40 mm and height 50 mm, rests on HP on its point
on base rim such that its axis is inclined at 45° to HP. Draw the projections.
ASSIGNMENT-3
1) A squarc pyramid, basc 40mm side and axis 65mnm long, has its base on the H.P. and all
the
cdges of the base cqually inclincd to tlhc V.P. It is cut by a scction plane,
V.P., inclined at 45° to the H.P. and bisccting the axis. Draw its F.V., perpendicular to the
sectional top view,
sectional side vicw and truc shapc of the section.
3) A hexagonal pyramid, base 30 mm side andaxis 65 mm long is resting on its base on the
HP.
withtwo cdges of the base parallel to the VP. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to VP and
inclined at 45° 1o the HP, intersccting the axis at a point 25 mm above the base. Draw the front
view, sectional top view, sectional side vicw and true shape of the section.

3) A cylinder of 40mm diameter, 60 mm height and having its axis

vertical, is cut by a section
plane, perpendicular to V.P., inclined at 45° to the HP and intersecting the axis 32mm above the
base. Draw its F.V., sectional top view, sectional side view and true shape of the
section.
4) A Cone base 75 mm diameter and axis 80 mm long is resting on its base on
H.P. It is cut by a
section plane perpendicular to the V.P., inclined at 45° to the H.P. and cutting the axis at a point
35 mm from the apex. Draw the front view, sectional top view, sectional side view and true
shape of the section.

ASSIGNMENT4
i). A square pyramid of 30mm base sides and 50mm long axis is centrally placed on the top of a
cube of 50mm long edges. Draw the isometric view of the pair.

2) Draw the isometric view of frustum of acone standing on H.P. on its larger base. Dimensions
are as given below:

3) Draw the isometric projection of pentagonal prism (a) Lying on HP (b) Standing on HP. Each
side of base 55cm and axis length 11Ocm.
