D. Learning Objectives a. Understand the purpose and components of an outline defense in research.
b. Present a draft of their research outline for peer and teacher feedback.
c. Respond to feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve their research outline.
II. CONTENT OUTLINE DEFENSE IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH
LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide
2. Learners’ Materials SLM SLM SLM SLM
3. Textbook, Page
4. Additional references

Resources
III. PROCEDURES
A. Review
B. Motivation Begin with a discussion question:
C. Activity  "Why is it important to defend a research outline before proceeding with a full study?"
 Allow students to share their thoughts. Use their responses to introduce the concept of an outline defense as a way to ensure that research
projects are on the right track before diving deeper.
D. Analysis 1. Mini-Lecture on Outline Defense:
 Explain what an outline defense is and its role in the research process.
 It's an opportunity for students to present their research plan (outline) to a panel of evaluators.
 It helps in refining the research focus and methodology based on feedback.
2. Components of a Research Outline:
 Introduce the key parts of a research outline:
 Introduction/Background of the Study: Context and significance of the research.
 Statement of the Problem: Specific issues or questions to be addressed.
 Objectives: Goals the research aims to achieve.
 Review of Related Literature: Overview of existing studies related to the topic.
 Methodology: Procedures and strategies for data collection and analysis.
 Significance of the Study: Potential contributions to knowledge or practice.
E. Abstraction 1. Group Work: Drafting the Research Outline:
 Divide the class into small groups. Each group will draft a simple outline for their research topic.
 Groups will focus on the Introduction, Statement of the Problem, Objectives, and Methodology.
2. Sample Outline Review:
 Provide a sample research outline. Go through each part and discuss why it's well-organized or what can be improved.
 Discuss the use of clear language and coherence in writing.
F. Application Peer Review and Presentation:
 Allow students to present their group’s draft outlines to another group for feedback.
 Students will then present their work to the class, simulating an outline defense.
 Peers and the teacher will provide constructive feedback based on the rubric.
IV. EVALUATION  Evaluate students based on participation in group work, quality of the draft outline, and their ability to respond to feedback.\
 Use a rubric that assesses the clarity of the research problem, the coherence of the methodology, and the overall organization of the outline.
V. ASSIGNMENT
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned
80% on the formative
assessment
B. No.of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation
C. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well?
Why did these works?
