1. Discuss the importance of microscopy in the field of agricultural botany. 5PTS

Answer: The importance of a microscope it to see by our own eyes the different
particles of an animal and plants it is very important for the researchers who studies
about plants and animals to use a microscope for them to answer their studies. And
also microscope help us to see even in our naked eyes cannot be seen. That is how
important the microscope is for the students like us and for the researchers.

2. What is the difference between a compound light microscope and a dissecting


microscope? 5PTS

Answer: Compound Light microscope is a widely power to used to view the image
because the light passes can magnify up to 2000x. While the dissecting microscope
have a low magnification of a sample and it is usually has a less than x40 light that can
magnify. It is actually replaced by stereo instruments to give the image a view
(Wikipedia).

3. Discuss the proper care and handling of the microscope. 5pts

Answer: The proper way of caring and handling of the microscope is to carry it with both
hands. When you clean it you need to used the special paper for lens so that the lens of
the microscope will not be scratched. Then do not force the knobs and lastly after using
the microscope cover the lens with a clean cloth before placing it in a clean cabinet.
4. Label the parts and functions of the microscope

look or view
2. Stage It is where you can place your
specimen for viewing
3. Illuminator The illuminator is the source of
light in the microscope
4. Revolving Nose Piece It is a lenses for two or more
objectives
5. Objective lenses This is for your specimen
visualization
6. Arm It is for supporting the head of a
microscope when you carrying it
7. Course Adjustment Knob It is a use for focusing the
microscope
8. Fine Adjustment Knob This is a control of an image that
you want to focus or view
9. Light Switch You can turn on and off the
switch of the illuminator to view
10. Base This is a support for the
microscope and to place in the
bottom
