Given numbers are in AP
∴ (k + 10) – 2k = (3k + 2) – (k + 10)

17. For what value of p are 2p + 1, 13, 5p – 3, three consecutive terms of AP?
since 20 + 1, 13, 5p – 3 are in AP.
∴ second term – First term = Third term – second term
⇒ 13 – (2p + 1) = 5p – 3 – 13
⇒ 13 – 2p – 1 = 5p – 16
