HAWKINS

TAYLOR HAWKINS

Born on February 17, 1972 in Fort Worth, TX , Taylor Hawkins

is the late drummer of the 15-time Grammy award winning band,
Foo Fighters. This unforgettable artist has been in the top 25 best
rock drummers of all time! When he died on March 25, 2022 in
Bogota, Colombia after playing his final gig, Lollapalooza, the
Foo Fighters knew they would never be the same again. After his
death, they found 10 substances in his system, including tricyclic
antidepressants, opioids, benzodiazepines, and THC .
FINAL FOO ALBUM WITH TAYLOR :
MEDICINE AT MIDNIGHT
The final Foo Fighters album with Taylor
Hawkins is entitled Medicine at
Midnight, with 9 total tracks on it. There
was a follow-up live album, entitled Dee
Gees Hail Satin, released a few months
after M .A .M . Taylor’s favorite track
was “Shame Shame,” because (according
to him) they just had to loop his part,
therefore he got to leave early that day.😆
HOW TAYLOR STARTED DRUMMING

As Taylor has said in multiple interviews, he got his start on

drumming when he was just 10 years old! One of his neighbors had
gotten a drum set so he went over to his house to try it out.
Taylor neighbor told him to hit the hi-hat for the beat (1-2-3-4).
Then, he told Taylor to hit the snare when he said “3.” The final
thing was to play the kick whenever he said “1.” H e instantly got
it, and his neighbor knew he was definitely a drummer.
TAYLOR HAWKINS TRIBUTE CONCERTS
Two tribute concerts were held in honor of Taylor Hawkins; one at
Wembley Stadium in London and one at the Kia Forum in Los
Angeles. The concerts united several of the artists who knew Taylor,
who influenced Taylor, and who Taylor influenced himself. Obviously a
very difficult night for the band, his kids (Shane, Annabelle, and
Everleigh), and his wife. This was especially hard for the frontman of
Foo, Dave Grohl, because Taylor was practically his “brother from
another mother.” Although there were many amazing performances,
two in particular really made me emotional: when Dave broke down
while singing “Times Like These,” and Shane Hawkins playing drums
to “ My H ero,” because his dad really was his hero.
BUT HERE WE ARE , STILL STANDING STRONG

See what I did there? Okay, all jokes aside,

But H ere We Are is Foo Fighters eleventh
studio album, grieving the loss of Taylor
Hawkins and Dave Grohl’s mom, Virginia
Grohl. There are 10 tracks on the album,
with one of the singles being about Taylor:
“ Under You.” Some are about Virginia,
and some are just about the feelings of
loosing the two closest friends you still had.
TAYLOR HAWKINS

Taylor Hawkins, one of the best drummers of all time, gone too
soon. I even found myself tearing up while making this slideshow.
It’s still hard for me to understand the fact that he’s gone
forever.
Gone but never forgotten,

OLIVER TAYLOR HAWKINS
