Lesson Plan: Greeting and Introducing Yourself

Objective:
• Students will be able to greet others appropriately in different social situations.

• Students will be able to introduce themselves and others.

• Students will be able to engage in basic conversations.

Materials:
• Whiteboard or projector

• Markers or pens

• Index cards

• Role-play scenarios

Procedure:
1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
o Start with a simple icebreaker, such as a "Two Truths and a Lie" game.

o Ask students to share interesting facts about themselves.

2. Introduction of the Topic (10 minutes):


o Write the topic "Greeting and Introducing Yourself" on the board.

o Explain the importance of good manners and polite greetings.

o Introduce basic greetings like "Hello," "Hi," "Good morning," "Good


afternoon," and "Good evening."

3. Practice Greetings (15 minutes):


o Divide students into pairs.

o Have them practice greeting each other using different phrases.

o Encourage them to use appropriate body language, such as a smile


and eye contact.

o Model correct pronunciation and intonation.

4. Introducing Yourself (15 minutes):


o Teach students a simple formula for introducing themselves: "Hello, my

o Practice introducing yourself to the class.

o Have students practice introducing themselves to each other in pairs.

5. Role-Play Scenarios (20 minutes):
