Welcome to the Kifiya AIM: AI Mastery Training Program, your gateway to a rewarding career
in the Ethiopian FinTech sector!

About Kifiya Financial Technology

Kifiya Financial Technology is an AI-driven digital financial services company that operates
across FinTech, AgriTech and Mobility sectors. Driven by a vision of creating equitable access
to financial services and markets, Kifiya leverages data to minimize risk, offer alternative credit
scoring for financial institutions and mitigate climate risk faced by smallholder farmers.
Established in 2012, Kifiya Financial Technology is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Before you begin your application journey, here's everything you need to know about the
program and the application process:

Training Overview
The Kifiya AIM Training Program is an intensive three-month training experience from (11
December 2024 to 05 March 2025) designed to upskill individuals as AI Engineers for the
Ethiopian FinTech industry. Throughout the program, participants will engage in hands-on
learning through industry-simulated projects, deploying end-to-end solutions using
industry-standard tools. Key technical competencies covered include Data & Analytics
Engineering, MLOps & AutoML, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning model development.
Additionally, the program focuses on developing career competencies such as collaboration,
communication, and effective presentation.

1-hour quiz
After completing the application, applicants will be given a 1-hour quiz covering topics in
math, statistics, SQL, and Python. This quiz determines if applicants are eligible to join the
second assessment, which is the Week 0 assessment.

Week 0
Week 0 serves as a simulation week, akin to an assessment week. During this period,
applicants will engage in technical and career challenges to demonstrate their readiness and
suitability for the program. We'll be assessing your previous knowledge and skills, motivation,
work ethic, and interest in Week 0 activities.
What we're looking for in Week 0:
● Demonstrated proficiency in Python, SQL, and Statistics.
● Dedication, motivation, and hard work ethic.
● Ability to quickly transition to a high level of job readiness.
● Proactive problem-solving skills and a bias-to-action mindset.
● Willingness to support the community and collaborate with peers.

Application Process:

The application process for the Kifiya AIM Training Program involves submitting your
application through the 10 Academy tenx platform. You'll be asked to provide basic personal
information, educational background, relevant experience, and a statement of purpose
outlining your motivation and goals. The selection process will be conducted over 4 days, with
admission decisions implemented on the 5th day based on the specified criteria.

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the Kifiya AIM Training Program, participants will receive a
certificate recognizing their achievements and acquired skills. This certificate serves as a
testament to your dedication and readiness to start a career in AI engineering within the
Ethiopian FinTech sector.
