Rubric for Evaluating NLP Projects

Criterion Level Description Points


1. Problem Definition Low (0-5) Problem is unclear, objectives are vague, and 0-5
and Objectives relevance to NLP is poorly explained.
Medium Problem is moderately clear, objectives are 6-10
(6-10) somewhat defined, and relevance to NLP is
explained with limited depth.
High (11- Problem is well-defined, objectives are clear 11-15
15) and specific, and relevance to NLP is
convincingly articulated.
2. Methodology and Low (0- Methodology is poorly described, lacks rigor, 0-10
Design 10) or is unsuitable for achieving the objectives.
Medium Methodology is described adequately, shows 11-20
(11-20) some rigor, and is appropriate but may lack
innovation or depth.
High (21- Methodology is well-described, rigorous, 21-30
30) innovative, and strongly supports the
objectives.
3. Implementation and Low (0- Implementation is incomplete or poorly 0-10
Execution 10) executed, and results are insufficient or
unreliable.
Medium Implementation is mostly complete, 11-20
(11-20) demonstrates some effort, and results are
moderately reliable but lack thorough testing
or refinement.
High (21- Implementation is complete, well-executed, 21-30
30) and produces reliable results with evidence
of thorough testing and refinement.
4. Analysis and Low (0- Results are poorly analyzed, lack depth, or 0-10
Interpretation of 10) are not clearly linked to the objectives.
Results
Medium Results are adequately analyzed and linked to 11-20
(11-20) the objectives, but may lack depth or critical
insights.
High (21- Results are thoroughly analyzed, critically 21-30
30) interpreted, and strongly linked to the
objectives with meaningful insights.
5. Understanding and Low (0-5) Limited or incorrect understanding of NLP 0-5

High (11- Project is highly creative, demonstrates 11-15
15) significant originality, and introduces
innovative ideas or approaches.
7. Presentation and Low (0-5) Presentation and documentation are unclear, 0-5
Documentation poorly structured, and lack essential details.
Medium Presentation and documentation are clear and 6-10
(6-10) moderately detailed, with room for
improvement in structure or depth.
High (11- Presentation and documentation are 11-15
15) excellent, highly detailed, well-structured,
and effectively convey the project’s scope
and findings.
