Introduce your research problem & summarize the themes
• Research problem: explain your RP and briefly describe its condition,
consequences and purpose
• Structure overview: outline the themes of your literatures (how is it
going to flow?)

• organize the literature according to common themes;
• provide insight into the relation between themes, move from
a general, wider view of the literature being reviewed to the
specific focus of your research;
• Have a topic sentence in each theme paragraph before
you present others’ ideas.
