Introduction:The present day generation of networkcommunication exchange routing is the top factor

forcommunication exchange. Routing is the system ofselecting first-class paths in a community which
isnormally performed by dedicated devices referred to asrouters. Routing protocols had been created for
routers topermit the exchange of routing tables, or regardednetworks, between routers. Routing of
packets is finishedin two ways, static routing and dynamic routing. Instatic routing administrator
manually enters the routeswithin the router table wherein as in dynamic routing ittakes place routinely
the use of routing protocols like RIP,IGRP, EIGRP.

Survey: Dynamic Routing Protocols in Data Networks.

What type of dynamic routing protocol is used in your network?

] Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP)

Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGP)
Classification of Dynamic Routing Protocols:
a. Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP):

Used within a single Autonomous System (AS) or network.

Facilitate the exchange of routing information among routers within the same AS.
Examples: RIP, IGRP, OSPF, IS-IS.
b. Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGP):

Handle routing between different Autonomous Systems.

Exchange routing information among routers belonging to separate AS networks.
Example: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
Operational Methodologies of Dynamic Routing Protocol Classes:
a. Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP):

Operational Method: Regular exchange of routing information between routers at specified time
intervals or in response to network topology changes.
Examples: RIP, IGRP, OSPF, IS-IS.
b. Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGP):

Operational Method: Exchange of routing information between routers in different Autonomous

Systems, making routing decisions based on path attributes and defined policies.
Example: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
Discussion of Popular Dynamic Routing Protocols:
a. Routing Information Protocol (RIP):

Class: Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP)
