ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW

This assignment project is designed for students to integrate and

extend knowledge acquired throughout the course and to apply that

knowledge to solve a problem faced by users.

OBJECTIVE

• To demonstrate strong database analytical and design skills for

students in advanced database system development.

• To expose students with important usage and functions of

database design and management in an application development.

• To familiarize students with activities needed in database

development.

• To test students’ capabilities of writing a complete report for

database development.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR SUBMISSION?

you are required to analyze, design, and implement a database for

any available working application (choose any online application

that provides any type of services and now is used daily by users).

Suppose that you have been asked to develop a similar application

but using SQL Server DBMS. Do the following 2 (Two) points:


1. Write a report that clearly shows the following:

1. a) A description to the online system including its URL.

2. b) The backup policy for the database of the online

system

3. c) The ERD (Entity-Relationship diagram) of the

expected database for the online system.

4. d) Screenshots for the relational database tables

including the relations between tables (screenshots from

the SQL Server DBMS)

2. Complete the rest of the report written in point (1). This part

of the report must clearly show the queries expected to be

used for every page of the online system. These queries must

be at least for 15 pages of the online system. In addition to

using all necessary SQL statements, you must include the

following SQL capabilities: § Views § Join § Stored Procedures
