CardWorld Producer

CardWorld Producer is CR2’s flexible card production


system that enables banks to issue proprietary and
globally branded cards (Visa, MasterCard).
In-house Card Production
With CardWorld Producer, banks can directly
control all aspects of card production including
data encryption, magnetic stripe encoding, card
embossing, PIN mailing, printing card carriers and
interfacing to card management systems.

Flexibility
CardWorld Producer is a highly flexible solution
that enables banks to issue different card products
using production equipment from a variety of
manufaturers. The solution can be easily adapted
for each bank’s unique scheduling and security
needs.

Reduced Costs

f Card production is a critical banking process that must meet high customer
expectations for delivery time and quality. When card production is carried out
in-house, a bank can closely manage the production costs.

f The multi-bank feature enables a bank to act as a card bureau providing card
production services to other banks and financial organisations. This feature will
allow a bank to share its card production costs across multiple banks.

Security

f CardWorld Producer supports EMV chip card issuing in combination with a


Thales P3 system. EMV chip cards have stronger security mechanisms to
combat the challenges posed by fraudulent transactions.

f CardWorld Producer supports the division of roles within the production


process, enabling the bank build a secure and auditable card issuing process.

f CardWorld Producer uses a Hardware Security Module (HSM) to generate a


card’s encrypted security values.

f When card production is carried out in-house, there is no requirement to share


the bank’s encryption keys with an external card bureau or to transport data
files for card production from the bank to the bureau.

Integration with BankWorld
f CardWorld Producer is fully integrated
with the BankWorld Card Management
System. It can directly import card
production information for new & re-issued
cards and export details of completed card
batches.
f CardWorld Producer’s flexible architecture allows
the addition of alternative drivers to import card production
information from any card management system.

Reporting and Auditing


f CardWorld Producer provides a comprehensive set of audit logs and reports
that provide details of all card production operations performed and all items
produced in each production cycle.

Multiple Card Products


f CardWorld Producer can produce proprietary card products as well as cards
that belong to global card schemes such as Visa, MasterCard and Diners
Club.

Printer/Embosser Support
f CardWorld Producer has support for a wide variety of card printers and
embossers including Datacard, Eltron, NBS, Logika & CIM. CardWorld
Producer’s flexible driver architecture can be easily extended to support
other printers/embossers that the bank may choose to use.

PIN Mailer
f CardWorld Producer can print the PIN envelopes used for distributing
customers PINs. The PIN mailer printer can be connected directly to the HSM
to ensure that PINs remain encrypted during the entire process.

Chip Data Personalisation


f The chip data personalisation process associated with EMV card production is
performed by a third party system. CardWorld Producer uses Thales P3 to
carry out chip data preparation. A wide variety of card types and payment
applications are supported by the Thales P3 system.

Card and PIN Envelope Design


f CardWorld Producer’s layout editor allows a bank to visually design the front
and back of a card. Customer photographs and other images can be included
in the card design. The layout editor can also be used to design the layout of
PIN envelopes, card carriers and address labels.
