Creating​ ​a​ ​Color​ ​Wheel​ ​using​ ​Adobe​ ​Illustrator

1. Open​ ​Adobe​ ​Illustrator


2. Create​ ​a​ w
​ orkspace​ t​ hat​ ​is​ ​8.5”x8.5”​ ​-​ T​ itle​ ​it​ ​LastNameColorWheel and is set to RGB color
3. View>Show​ ​Rulers​ ​(Ctrl​ ​R)
4. Create​ ​Guides​ ​at​ ​4.25”​ ​horizontally​ ​AND​ v​ ertically
5. Create​ ​Guides​ .​ 25”​ ​from​ ​all​ f​ our​ ​edges​ ​of​ ​your​ ​workspace​ ​also

7. Create​ ​a​ s​ hape​ ​that​ ​will​ ​repeated​ t​ o​ ​create​ ​your​ ​color​ ​ w​ heel
a. The​ ​shape​ ​can​ ​be​ ​created​ ​using​ t​ he​ ​shapes and Pathfinder​
b. Set​ ​the​ ​Fill​ ​of​ ​the​ ​first​ ​shape​ ​to​ ​the​ ​Red​ ​Hex​ ​Code​ ​(#FF0000)​ a
​ nd
position​ i​ t​ ​at​ ​the​ ​top​ c​ enter​ o
​ f​ ​your​ ​artboard​ ​(No​ ​Stroke)
8. Select​ ​the​ ​shape​ b​ y​ ​clicking​ ​on​ ​it. Duplicate- Option Click and Drag
a. Object>Transform>Rotate​ ​OR​​ R ​ ightClick>Transform>Rotate
i. Set​ ​the​ ​Angle​ ​to​ ​30°
ii. Position bottom so it is in the center (where guidelines meet)
iii. Repeat Above step with angle set to 60 and the 90
iv. Select these 4 shapes Duplicate and Horizontally flip
v. Select all 7 shape Duplicate and Vertically flip
vi. Change the Fill of each shape with the Hex Codes in the chart below. It is import that they are
in order.
