Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation software developed by Microsoft Corporation.
It is part of the Microsoft Office package software and is widely used for creating
slideshows, presentations, and multimedia presentations. PowerPoint allows users to
combine text, graphics, images, audio, and video to create dynamic presentations for
various purposes
Lab 1 :
Working with Creating slides
 Click on Home Tab.
 In the slides group, click on New Slide.
 Select required layout.
 A blank slide will be insert after your active slide.

Applying Design
 Click the Design tab.
 Choose one of the design based on your content.

Adding Pictures
 Click on the Insert tab.
 Click on the Pictures button from image ribbon.
 Browse the required pictures files from the folders.
 Select the picture you want to insert in slide.
 Click Insert.

Add Shapes
 Click the Insert tab.
 Click the Shapes button in the Illustrations group.
 Click the shape you want.

Create a table
 Place the cursor on the page where you want the new table.
 Click on the Insert tab.
 Click on the Table from Tables ribbon, and choose the size for table .
 Place the cursor in the cell where you want to enter data and begins.

Inserting header and footer
 Click on Insert tab
 Click on Header and Footer from text ribbon
 Header and Footer Dialog will appear .
 Select date and time, slide number, page number as per required.
 Click on Apply or Apply to all button according to need.

Slide Transition
 Select the slide to add a Transition .
 Click on Transition Tab.
 Choose the transition.
 Adjust effect like transition speed, sound if required.
 Click apply to all, if you want to apply your transition settings to all of your slides.

Slide Animation
 Select the object or text you want to animate.
 Click on the Animation tab.
 Click Add Animation.
 Choose the effect you want on your object or text.

Start slideshow
 Click on Slideshow tab.
 If you want to start slideshow from first slide, click From Beginning.
 If you want to start slideshow from particular slide, select the required slide and
click From Current Slide.
 You can click on slideshow option from status bar.
 You can press F5 key from keyboard to start slideshow.

Choosing the Background


 Select the Design tab.
 In the themes ribbon, click on Background Styles you want .
 Choose background as need.(You can format background as per required)
 To hide background graphics, check the box next to Hide Background Graphics.

Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet Software developed by Microsoft Corporation. It is
part of the Microsoft Office package software and is widely used for various tasks
involving data management, analysis, and visualization. Excel allows users to create,
edit, and manipulate spreadsheets containing rows and columns of data.

Lab 3
Creating a table
 Select a cell.
 On the Insert tab, click Table.
 Mark if your table has headers.
 Click OK.
To sort in alphabetical order
 Select the column you want to sort.
 Click the Sort & Filter command in the Editing group on the Home tab.
 Select Sort A to Z or Z to A according to your requirement.
 Now the information is organized in alphabetical order or reverse alphabetical
order according to your selection.
To sort from smallest to largest
 Select a cell in the column you want to sort.
 Click the Sort & Filter command in the Editing group on the Home tab.
 Select From Smallest to Largest.
 You can sort in reverse numerical order by choosing From Largest to Smallest in
the list.
Changing Cell Alignment

 Select the Cell you want to Format.


 Click on the small arrow shown in the Font group.
 Select Alignment tab.
 Select Proper Cell Formatting.
 Click OK.

Insert Page Number
 On the Insert tab, click on Page Number
 Click pages depending on where you want page numbers to appear in your document

 Double-click the header or footer of one of your document pages
 On the Insert tab in the Header & Footer group, click Page Number
 Then, click Format Page Numbers
 In the Page Number Format, click a numbering style
 Then, click OK

Watermark in document
 On the Design tab, click on Watermark button
 Select the option you want
 To insert your own text as watermark, select Custom Watermark, click in Text Watermark
and type your text in field Text

 Click in your document where you want to insert the Table of Contents
 On References tab, click on Table of Contents
 Click OK

 Click at the end of sentence that you want to cite
 Then, on the References tab, click Insert Citation
 Select the citation you want to create

 Put the cursor where you want the bibliography
 Click on the References tab
 Then, Click on Bibliography in the Citations & Bibliography group
 Choose a required format
