List of Illustrations
The user can send and receive various files to and from the IMX 2® Series
printers on their network. The user can get a new card layout from one
IMX 2® Printer and share it with other IMX 2® printers on the network.
The user must obtain the IP addresses for the IMX 2® Series Printers to
be connected to Dashboard. The User’s Network Administrator is the
likely source of this information.
Loading Dashboard
Dashboard software is loaded from the Compact Disk (CD) provided with
the new ImageMaster IMX 2® Series Printer.
Place the CD into the CD drive on the PC. The CD contains a self
staring program that will display a menu on the PC screen.
Select “Load Dashboard” from the menu. Follow any instructions that
appear on the screen.
Starting Dashboard
The Remote Dashboard Operating Screen is the user’s interface with the
program.
The initial opening screen differs from the typical Dashboard operating
screen only in that it is blank. No information exists about the existing
IMX 2® Series printer(s) on the user’s PC system. While the NBS
authorized service representative, setting up the system may perform
initial connections, the operator should be familiar with the process as
future printer connections may be needed.

After the initial setup, as new IMX 2® printers are added to the system,
this process is repeated. The only difference, in later connecting
procedures, the starting screen will not be blank.
The first step is to identify the IMX 2® printer being added. Use the New
Connection dialog window to identify the IMX 2® Series Printer added to
Remote Dashboard program. To access this dialog window Click on one
of following items:
User Name: The entry here must match the entry programmed into
the IMX 2® being added. The IMX 2® default, if
feature is not used in the printer, is - imuser.
Password: The entry here must match the entry programmed into
the IMX 2® being added. The IMX 2® default, if feature
is not used in the printer, is - card.
Management Listing
To verify the ID, open the “Management listing” of IMX 2® ID’s by:
The green check mark, in second column, identifies this entry as the
“default” printer. When Dashboard is “connected” to the network, this is
the IMX 2® Series printer that it will connect to.
Now that the IMX 2® is identified, and the identification is verified the
connection has to be completed.
As the Remote Dashboard program and the IMX 2® printer are connected
all other functions of the Dashboard are now available to the user.
The main function of Dashboard is to move files between the PC and the
various IMX 2® printers on the system. With a connection in place
between the default IMX 2® and the PC, moving initial information to the
PC Folder is the next step of the initial session.

The Folder Content Buttons on the left side of the screen determine what
is displayed in the top part of the folder on the screen. The options are:
Clicking on one of the items, in any of the listings, except “Deleted Files”,
will display details of the item in the bottom half of the Folder display.
A representation of the
layout is displayed in lower
half of folder screen.
The Content button sets the display for both PC Folder and the IMX 2®
Folder. However the individual content displayed in lower half can be
independent of each other. In the illustration below both folders are
displaying Fonts - as that is the content button selected, but each folder
has a different font highlighted and subsequently a “Dutch 18 Pt” font is
displayed in PC Folder, while a “Swiss 18 Pt” font is displayed in the
ImageMaster Folder.

Upload All
Upload All allows user to upload all types of files in a folder to the
connected IMX 2® Printer at one time. An IMX 2® printer must be connect-
ed for the Upload All Menu item or Property Bar Icon to be active.
Selecting Upload All results in the “Upload All Files” dialog window.
Upload files from This pull down list allows user to select the
this folder: Folder whose contents will be uploaded.
Check file groups you The subsequent collection of check boxes allow
would like to upload: the user to select the types of files to be
uploaded to the IMX 2® Series Printer. Clicking
on blank boxes inserts a check mark. The files
with check marks are uploaded. Files associated
with Unchecked boxes are not uploaded.
Download All
The Download All functions much the same as Upload All. The
difference being the direction of file flow – from the IMX 2® connected
printer to the PC Dashboard Folder. The other slight difference is the
default settings of the dialog window. Note that all items are already
checked for downloading. The user must un-check the files not being
transferred – unlike in Upload All where user must check the items to be
transferred.
The Download All process results in its own Log with the same options
discussed above.
