Preparation and Pre-Flight

1. Pre-Flight Briefing:

o Review the flight plan, weather conditions, and any relevant notices (NOTAMs).

o Discuss roles and responsibilities with the flight crew.

2. Pre-Flight Checks:

o Power up the aircraft by connecting to an external power source or the Auxiliary

Power Unit (APU).

o Run through the pre-flight checklist, including:

▪ Navigation systems setup.

▪ Fuel quantity check.

▪ Communication system testing.

3. Flight Management System (FMS):

o Program the FMS with the flight plan details, including departure and arrival data,
route waypoints, and altitude.

4. Instrument Check:

o Verify all cockpit instruments for functionality, including autopilot, flight director, and
engine monitoring systems.

Taxi and Take-off

1. Taxiing:

o Coordinate with ground control to get clearance for taxi.

o Use the tiller or sidestick to steer the aircraft while monitoring speed.

2. Take-off Clearance:

o Communicate with air traffic control (ATC) for take-off clearance.

o Set take-off thrust as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) using the thrust
levers.

3. Take-off Procedure:

o Rotate the aircraft at the designated speed (V1, VR).

o Maintain a steady climb rate as per the flight plan.

In-Flight Operations

1. Autopilot Engagement:
o Engage the autopilot after take-off to maintain the programmed flight path.

o Monitor and adjust parameters such as altitude, airspeed, and heading as directed
by ATC.

2. Monitoring Systems:

o Continuously check flight instruments, navigation systems, and engine performance.

o Communicate regularly with ATC for updates.

3. Crew Coordination:

o Maintain effective communication and decision-making with co-pilots.

Landing

1. Approach Setup:

o Program the FMS for approach details, including altitude and speed restrictions.

o Communicate with ATC for landing clearance.

2. Landing Procedure:

o Disengage the autopilot (if necessary) during final approach.

o Deploy the landing gear and configure flaps for a safe touchdown.

3. Touchdown and Taxi:

o Land the aircraft and apply brakes or reverse thrust to slow down.

o Exit the runway and taxi to the assigned gate.

Post-Flight

1. Shutdown:

o Power down the aircraft systems.

o Perform a post-flight inspection and complete necessary documentation.

2. Debriefing:

o Review the flight with the crew and report any anomalies.

Important Considerations

• Training: Pilots must complete Airbus-specific type-rating courses.

• Adherence to Procedures: Strictly follow the Airbus operating manuals and standard
operating procedures.

• Simulation: Practice in advanced flight simulators to enhance skills and safety compliance.
