Serial Cable Pin-out (1 gig)

Controller end (3 Pin Flat)

Server end (9 Pin D-Type)

Earlier versions of the supplied serial cable use the following color
scheme:
Controller Server
Pin 1 Top (White) Pin 2
Pin 2 Middle (Red) Pin 3
Bottom (Black) Pin
Pin 3
5

Later versions have a heat shrink housing which makes it difficult to

see the colors, however in both case the cable is keyed for correct
access.

The following information outlines using terminal emulator

to configure the SANbloc with one possible configuration.
Connect using a computer with terminal emulator software to the
seial port. Using HyperTerminal for Windows it is usually Com1: or
Com: With tip under Solaris device port names are usually
/dev/term/a or /dev/term/b.

Initial setting for the VT100 mode

1. Bits per second.......19200

2. Data bits...................8
3 Parity....................... None
4 Stop Bits..................1
5. Flow control ...........None
6. Connect to the appropriate serial port.
7. Start the SanBloc 2500 with the serial cable connected (White
wire, or dot is at top of connector). The screen will display the POST

When the test is complete, type @ and this screen should be
