Sitaram Jindal Scholarship 2023 – Eligibility, Application

Form, Rewards
Sitaram Jindal Scholarship is a merit-cum-means based scholarship scheme. Started by
the Sitaram Jindal Foundation, a charitable organisation in Bengaluru, the Jindal
scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to deserving meritorious candidates who
belong to underprivileged families. The candidates need to be studying in class 11 to post-
graduation in order to be eligible for Sitaram Jindal Scholarship. The scholarship covers
Polytechnic and Diploma courses in technical education as well. The selected students
can avail up to INR 3,200 per month scholarship amount under this scholarship scheme.

Category C
For graduate courses:
• The candidates must be studying graduate courses to be eligible.
• The applicants must have secured at least 55% marks (in case of
boys) and 50% marks (in case of girls) in the previous exam.
• However, students of Karnataka must have secured a minimum 65%
marks (in case of boys) in the last exam and 60% marks (in case of
girls) and West Bengal students must have obtained at least 60% in
case of boys and 55% marks in case of girls.
• In case of those in employment, the annual family income must not
be more than INR 4 Lakh.
• For other students, the annual family income must not be more than
INR 2.5 Lakh.
• The applicants must not have crossed the age of 30 years.
For postgraduate courses:
• The candidates must be studying graduate courses to be eligible.
• The applicants must have secured at least 60% marks (in case of
boys) and 55% marks (in case of girls) in the previous exam.
• However, students of Karnataka must have secured a minimum 65%
marks (in case of boys) in the last exam and 60% marks (in case of
girls).
• In case of those in employment, the annual family income must not

Sitaram Jindal Scholarship 2023 – Key Dates


Jindal scholarship comes under the category of round the year scholarship, which
means its application remains open throughout the year. The eligible candidates
can apply for the scholarship as and when required. However, the candidate can
apply for the scholarship only once in the duration of their course.

The candidates applying for Sitaram Jindal Scholarship need to attach some
important documents with the completed application form to support their
academic credentials. Find below the list of important documents to be attached
with the scholarship form.
• Copy of SSLC/HSC scorecard
• Copy of the last examination
• Copy of the income certificate
• Copy of merit certificate (applicable for Medical,
Engineering, Diploma and MBA students)
• Copy of certificates regarding fees paid (applicable for
Medical, Engineering, Diploma and MBA students)
• Certificate from the hostel warden (for hostellers)
• Certificate of physical disability from the competent authority (if
applicable)
• PPO, Relationship dependency certificate and Ex-servicemen widow
I-card (for widows and ex-servicemen)
Sitaram Jindal Scholarship 2023– Application Process
The scholarship application for the Jindal scholarship is submitted through offline
mode as well as online. Follow the steps listed below to apply online.

Click on the ‘Download Application’ option.

• Download form and fill in the required details in the offline mode.
• Submit the application form with supporting documents to the
address of Sitaram Jindal Foundation.

Beware of Agents!
Some cunning persons are misguiding the students and exploiting them by giving guarantee for sanction of scholarship if
application is routed through them. We strongly discourage such middle men. Any student who brings such agents to ou r
notice will be suitably rewarded. Application for scholarship received through any agent will be rejected.

Important Instructions
The following documents duly attested by the Principal /Authorised Professor or Lecturer should also be
submitted with the Application :
1) Photocopy of Marks Card of last examination passed.
2) Photocopy of SSLC/HSC Marks Card. (If it does not contain date of birth, any other proof of date of birth to be submitted, additionally).
3) Photocopy of Income Certificate (For Category A & B i.e. PUC and ITI students, photocopy of BPL card or Income Certificate should
be submitted. For category C,D & E i.e. Graduate , Post Graduate, Diploma, Engineering & Medical students, photocopy of the
Income Certificate issued by the competent authorities as designated by the respective State Govts. should be submitted. The
Income Certificate should not be more than 4 years old as on date of the application and its validity should be in force.
Income Certificate is not required from orphans who will have to submit death certificate of his/her parents.
4) Certificate regarding annual fees as per Annexure-VIII.
5) Certificate regarding students admission under Govt Merit Quota as per Annexure-VII (in case of B,Sc(Ag), B.Sc(Forestry), BVSC,
Diploma, Engineering, Medical & MBA students)
6) For hostellers, a certificate from the Warden or owner of private accommodation as per Annexure-IV or Annexure-IX as applicable.
7) For physically challenged, certificate from competent authority.
8) For widows and Ex-servicemen: i) PPO ii) Ex-servicemen Widow I-Card iii) Relationship Dependency Certificate.

Other information
1) Family Income Limits:
i. For those in employment - Rs.4.00 lakh per year – Salary Certificate issued by the Employer is acceptable.
ii. For all others - Rs.2.50 lakhs per year - Income Certificates issued by the competent authorities as designated by the respective State Govts. like
Tahsildar,Revenue Officer, BDO, Gram Pradhan, President of Village Panchayat etc. are acceptable.
In case the Income Certificate is issued in any language other than Hindi or English, the student should also submit a translated copy in English or
Hindi duly certified by the Principal / Authorised Signatory.
2) A student should apply for scholarship only once in the duration of the course.
3) Scholarships will be given in all Govt., Govt. aided Schools, Colleges/ Institutes and those private schools, Colleges/ institutes
where exorbitant fee is not charged from the students.
4) For 3 years or longer duration courses, applications will not be entertained from final year students.
5) Scholarship will not be given for courses of less than one year duration.
6) Scholarship shall be discontinued after the student crosses 30 years of age.

Note:- Only those application forms which are downloadable free of cost from the Foundation's website will be entertained.
Application forms separately printed (in Printing Presses) will not be entertained.
Caution: Please ensure information & documents furnished are absolutely genuine and correct, failing which action will be taken as we have stringent system of
checking and verification by which some persons were caught and punished in the past.
