Software Requirements

In order to execute the demo code you will need:


 SQL Server 2012: You need access to a SQL Server 2012 instance with a logon that has
permissions to create new databases—preferably one that is a member of the sysadmin role.
For the purposes of this course, you can use any of the following editions of on-premises SQL
Server: Enterprise, Developer, and Evaluation, both 32-bit and 64-bit editions. If you don't have
access to an existing SQL Server instance, you can install a trial copy of SQL Server 2012 that
you can use for 180 days. You can download a trial copy here:

 SQL Server 2012 Setup Feature Selection When you are in the Feature Selection dialog
box of the SQL Server 2012 setup program, choose at minimum the following components:
 Database Engine Services
 Documentation Components
 Management Tools - Basic
o Management Tools – Complete
 SQL Server Data Tools
