Please read the following instructions for writing your assignments. (AD, BS,
BEd, MA/MSc, MEd) (ODL Mode)

1. All questions are compulsory and carry equal marks but within a question,
the marks are distributed according to its requirements.
2. Read the question carefully and then answer it according to the requirements
of the question.
3. Avoid irrelevant discussion/information and reproducing from books, study
guide or allied material.
4. Hand written scanned assignments are not acceptable. However, the students
who attempt their assignments in Urdu/Arabic may upload a scanned copy
of their hand written assignments (in PDF format) on University LMS. The
size of the file should not exceed 5 MB.
5. Upload your typed (in Word or PDF format) assignments on or before the
due date.
6. Your own analysis and synthesis will be appreciated.
7. Late assignments can't be uploaded at LMS.

Q. 1 (a) Identify science process skill for the following indicators.


(i) Designing experiment by identifying materials and describing
appropriate steps.

(iii)Getting information with the help of a telescope or microscope.
(iv) Forecasting a future even on the basis of prior experience.
(v) State definitions of objects or events in terms of what is
occurring in the event.
(b) Differentiate between concept and fact. Give examples from the
science textbook of class 8th. (20)

Q. 2 Differentiate between the basic process skills and integrated science skills.
What are the commonalities and differences in these skills. (20)

Q. 3 Differentiate between Learning strands, Content Standards and


Benchmarks with the help of examples. (20)

Q. 4 Conduct action research to find “the problems of novice science teachers


regarding conduct of practical”. (20)

Q. 5 Differentiate between rote learning and meaning learning. Who was


proponent of meaningful learning? Enlist teaching strategies helpful for
meaningful learning. (20)

Q. 2 Describe computers as an instructional aid for effective science teaching. (20)

Q. 3 Explain purpose and need of Assessment in Science Education. (20)

Q. 4 What may happen when a science teacher continuously does not use
“previous knowledge testing” and “formative assessment. (20)

Q. 5 Enlist guidelines of Carin and Sund to involve the children in doing


science. Write down your own views regarding involvement of students in
science learning. (20)
