Foreword
On-the-Job-Training (OJT) is the way to involve the
trainees, his/her knowledge and skills to an institution.
Because of this program, he/she will be able to determine
and be prepared to real working world. This program will
make huge impact for students and they can make use of
the things they have learned throughout the training.

The importance of OJT is to prepare the students to real

working world. The training will help the students to
practice his/her knowledge learned from Grade 9 to Grade
12.

Introduction
OJT is the part of college curriculum that aims to train and
orient students about work and their future career. It is a
type of skill development where students learn how to do
the work through hands on experience. OJT is the method
by which students are exposed with different work
situation designed to give students an opportunity to
experience and chance to apply the theories and
computation that they have learned from college. It also
helps students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills
by performing in actual work settings.

This training develops one’s professionalism in dealing

with people. When a student is competent enough,
she/he will be able to do things successfully.

which was established in 2000 A.D. It also works as
Supplier, Distributor and Wholesaler of different products
including Computer Peripherals, Printing, Surveillance
Devices, Attendance machines, Apple products, Gamming
products, Water purifiers, Air conditioners and many
more household gadgets.

It is located at Bhadrapur Road, Birtamode, Jhapa, Nepal.

Internship description
My role at Quality Computer was to work with the Senior
Technician Mr. Manish Poudel who has been working
there for a long time. In the initial phase, I took his help
but soon I started working independently. He guided me
only when the problem was complex.

First few days, I got bored because I had to attend the

office at 9.30 am and worked till 6.30 pm. But after few
days they chose me for field work. Then I new the quality
of the Quality Computer Pvt. Ltd. I tried my best to
support the customers. I mainly worked in Repair and
Maintenance and Networking sections. Sometimes, I also
worked in Printer department, Laptop department, UPS
and Battery department. Fortunately, I got mainly
opportunity to go to field work for CC Camera installation,
AC installation and Networking. While working in field I
got chances to visit many new places. During my OJT
period, I setup 30 new laptops, assembled more than 20
Pcs, repaired 10 laptops and printer, few CC Cameras and
serviced more than 20 printers.

I felt very happy at the end of OJT when I got the job offer
from my training office. It may be the award of my
punctuality, hard work, sincerity and honesty. I want to
thank a lot to Quality Computer Pvt. Ltd Birtamode.

Overview of internship experience
During my internship period, I got amazing experience at
Quality Computer Pvt. Ltd. I remained eager to learn
many things about latest products and customers’ needs.
I knew how to deal with the customers and make them
satisfied. I learnt many things on Laptops, Pcs, Printers,
CC Cameras, AC, Water purifiers, Apple products, Bar
code system, Stabilizers, Banking system and many more
latest electric and electronic devices. I learnt to repair
many electric and electronic gadgets which will be helpful
for my future endeavors.

Project Work on OJT

Following are the project which I carried out during my

internship period at Quality Computer Pvt. Ltd.

1. Formatted windows of laptop and desktop with the help

of bootable pendrive and reinstalled windows 7,8,10,11
on it.
2. Installed genuine office 365 software on official laptops
and desktop.
3. Installation of CCTV Camera at Namaste Plywood
Factory, Puja’s Collection and many other private and
public places.
4. Refilled cartridge and ink of printer.
5. Assembled and setup many gaming Pcs and new
laptops.
6. Changed many motherboards and many other
components of desktop during repairing.
7. Field visit for installation and troubleshooting problems
of computers.

Recommendation
Through my three months experience and observation
during my OJT program, I have observed followings to be
recommended.

To College
The OJT program is really a great experience to the
students. It gives us an opportunity to make ourselves
prepared to go into the working field. Since the
technological world is vast and ever changing I found the
precious OJT program is short and I would recommend it
to be more than usual. And the continuous effort
of the college authorities are crucial in fostering the
beforehand for the young and enthusiastic engineers in
the making.

The concern of the institutions and the organizations on

such program is less receptive. Therefore, I find it is very
essential for the concerned college authorities to shower
the rights of responsibilities for the probable and abled

organizations to take this program as an opportunity to
shape the younger minds of today for the better and
brighter technocrats of tomorrow.

To Organization
The concerned immediate supervisor remains busy and
at some points I found we are less guided and concerned.
It is fearing and difficult to handle the instruments and
machines without the experience and the proper guide.
Thus, I feel the guide have to be more receptive to the
quest of the trainees.

The nature of the work needed to be handled by the

trainee is fluctuating, as we were not designated to a
particular work but as per the availability of the task.
Thus, I found it was difficult to grab the concept of it
properly and confidently.

The technician at the center(s) needs to be frequently

trained as they remain with the old trains and faces
difficulties in handling the new instruments.

On a whole the OJT program has really been a good
experience for me. I was able to see and relate the
signals of my classroom knowledge with how things go in
practicality. I hope and find it recommendable to the
upcoming Friends.

Ongoing consideration
While I had many useful experiences at Quality
Computer, I feel that I still need to develop my confidence
levels with developing, testing and practicing. For Future
work it is very necessary to practice and revised, I face
that problem and now I planned that to practice the
things which I learn before and in OJT period. And build
my confidence level on my Work.

In conclusion
Accomplishing this project gave me immense knowledge
and idea about the present condition of maintenance
services and professionals. Different researches were
conducted to initiate the project and identifying the
problems in the delivering maintenance service gave the
idea to tackle these problems. I hope our effort can
provide steps that would help to perform efficient
maintenance service and employment opportunity by
providing platform and information to users.

Information Technology (IT) has ruled the modern world.

Each and every field of human life has an inevitable

relation with it. Computers have significant role in IT. So, I
found different customers from different professions while
doing my OJT. Computers are making their professions
easy. Without computers they remain incomplete. So, I
found the value of computers in modern time. And I felt
happy with my course and subjects. Really, I found, they
are going to make my future bright. I got professional skill
from my OJT, too.
