1. Define neutral axis and neutral plane in bending.
2. List the assumptions made in the symmetrical bending of beams.
3. Define shear center.

6. What are booms, and how do they resist loads?
7. What is meant by crippling strength?
8. Define the concept of effective skin width in thin-walled structures.

10. List the various structural elements of an aircraft wing and their functions.

11. (a) Derive and obtain an expression for the bending stress in an unsymmetrical (13)
