INTRODUCTION:

Through any specific pipes network there is two dominant types of losses which consists of: Minor losses and
Major losses, however the frictional energy loss due to the medium viscous effects rather than the pipe wall
roughness cause what we call a major loss, in addition, the minor loss is definitely resulting from the pipe
fittings, variations of the flow direction and area. In fact, setting up properly an efficient piping system and
deciding on how many fittings that might be used seem very critical and complex. That is why the parameter of
head loss coefficient (k) would be empirically derived to calculate the minor head losses.

APPARATUS:

In our experiment the apparatus we will be relying on, would consist of a pipe network containing light blue
pipes and dark blue pipes with multipule fittings, another component is involved in the set of pipes which is the
hydraulic bench proving a water flow and collecting the outlet water from the piping system as well, so here
below is a shematic design of our apparatus:
