Assessment Instructions:

This task contains six (6) open-end questions. You are required to provide answers to each
question to the best of your ability. You are also allowed to use learning resources as a guide
when forming your answers.

When answering the questions make sure that you:


• Analyse what the question is asking.
• Research to gather the information that will assist you in developing your answers.
• When writing the response include the key information that is directly related to the
question or task.
• Use complete sentences in your response when required.
• Use your own words - when quoting information from another source, you must
acknowledge that source.
• Answer the questions progressively.
• Address all parts of each question.
• If you do not understand the question, ask your teacher to explain.

NOTE: There are no max requirements for the length of your answers as long as your answer
provides enough information that correlates to the question.

1. Provide a brief description of each stakeholder engagement approach listed below.

Approach Description

Partnership This means working closely with stakeholders,


sharing responsibilities and decisions. Both sides
cooperate, trust each other, and are accountable for
the project's success.

Participation Participation involves letting stakeholders join in certain


project activities. It helps them feel involved and valued,
making them more likely to support the project.

Consultation Consultation is asking stakeholders for their opinions and


feedback without giving them the final say. This can be
done through surveys, meetings, or interviews to
understand their views.

Push Push communications are one-way updates sent to


communications stakeholders, like emails or newsletters. It’s a way to
keep them informed without expecting feedback.

Pull communications Pull communications let stakeholders find information on


their own, usually on a website or shared folder. They
can access it whenever they need but aren’t directly
contacted.

2. Identify one responsibility of each type of project stakeholder listed below.

rules and standards.

Senior Executive Offers guidance, removes roadblocks, and


ensures the project fits with the
organization’s big-picture goals.

Methods Description

Questionnaire A set of questions given to stakeholders (often as a


survey) to gather their feedback or opinions. It’s useful
for collecting answers from many people in a consistent
way.

Focus/working A small group discussion with selected stakeholders to get
group detailed ideas and opinions. It allows people to openly share
their thoughts and build on each other’s ideas.

One-on-one Private meetings with individual stakeholders to discuss their


interviews views, concerns, or needs. This helps gather detailed,
personal feedback on specific topics.
4. Answer the following questions about stakeholder engagement theory.

i. Briefly explain what Stakeholder Engagement Theory is about.


Stakeholder Engagement Theory is about creating good relationships with
people or groups who are interested in or affected by a project. It involves
understanding their needs, involving them in decisions, and considering their
concerns.

ii. Why is it important to engage with stakeholders?


Engaging with stakeholders is important because it builds trust, helps spot
issues early, and gathers useful feedback. It also boosts support, makes the
project more successful, and ensures it meets the needs of those affected by it.

5. Answer the following questions about conducting performance reviews.

i. Briefly describe what a performance review is.


A performance review is a meeting between a manager and an employee to talk
about how well the employee is doing their job. They discuss achievements,
strengths, and things to improve on.

ii. List three information that is used during performance reviews.


a. Employee goals – What the employee was supposed to accomplish.
b. Performance data – Numbers that show how well the employee did their job.
c. Feedback from others – Comments from coworkers or customers about the
employee’s work.
6. Answer the following questions about stakeholder engagement and expectation.

iii. Briefly describe systematic techniques used to determine stakeholder interest and
influence on the project.
Systematic techniques help identify who stakeholders are, what they care about, and
how much power they have over the project. This can include making a list of

stakeholders, using surveys to gather their opinions, and looking at past interactions
to understand their priorities.

iv. List five key principles of stakeholder engagement

a. Identify stakeholders – Find out who is involved or affected by the project.


b. Understand their needs – Learn what they want and expect from the project.
c. Communicate clearly – Share information with them regularly and simply.
d. Involve them in decisions – Let them take part in discussions that affect them.
e. Build trust – Create positive relationships to encourage support and
cooperation.
