METHOD OF PROCEDURE – NETWORK ELEMENT AUDIT

Step 1: Log into the System

Logging in locally using Web Browser

1. Verify that you have an Ethernet straight‐through cable to connect to your laptop and to the Craft terminal
on the Fan or Fan+OAM card.
2. Ensure that the 15G MRO XC or 60G MRO XC card is fully seated.
3. If logging in via Ethernet, verify that you have the proper network information (i.e. IP Address, Subnet Mask,
User name, and Password) of the Network Element that you are logging into
4. Change your PC’s IP Address to automatically obtain an IP address and select “OK”:

When connected to the Craft port, the DHCP setting can be used to obtain an IP address automatically from
the network element. When connected to the LAN port, a static IP address must be used that is on the same
subnet mask as the network element.
a. The default IP address of the 6200 is:
i. 192.168.1.254:20080
ATTENTION: If the session is logged out of the node and won’t let the user log back in, switch the laptop IP
setting to a static IP on the same subnet as the 6200.

5. Connect the Ethernet straight through cable to the Craft port on the Fan or Fan+OAM card on the 6200 and
to the Ethernet port on the PC.
