2. USE OF ENGLISH

1. Multiple-choice close

Esta actividad consiste en rodear la opción correcta.

Para ello deberemos saber sinónimos, collocations,
phrasal verbs, phrases and expressions and linking
words.
Practice makes perfect! Cuantas más veces
practiquemos este ejercicio, mejor nos saldrá.
2. USE OF ENGLISH
2. Open close

Esta actividad consiste en adivinar la palabra que va

en el hueco. Es el típico “fill the gaps”.
Para ello deberemos saber:
Pronouns, relative pronouns, articles, quantifiers,
modal/auxiliary verbs, conjunctions and prepositions.
En este tipo de ejercicio nunca encontraremos palabras
como verbos (salvo que sean los auxiliary verbs o los
modal verbs). Lo más común es encontrar preposiciones,
linkers, conjunciones...
2. USE OF ENGLISH
3. Word formation

Esta actividad consiste en saber crear palabras a partir

de otra palabra. Por ejemplo: tenemos un verbo y tenemos
que convertirlo en sustantivo.
Para poder success en este ejercicio debemos conocer los
prefijos y sufijos más comunes a la hora de transformar
palabras.
We must know:
Forming nouns from verbs, adjectives from verbs, adverbs
from adjectives, forming opposite meanings and difficult
spelling.
2. USE OF ENGLISH
4. Key word transformation

Esta actividad suele ser la que más miedo nos da, a la hora
de hacer el UOE. Se trata de escribir la una oración
similar a la primera, utilizando la palabra que te dan sin
modificarla y utilizando entre 3 y 6 palabras.
Esta actividad es para saber tu nivel de gramática, por
ello debemos controlar:
Comparatives/superlatives, phrasal verbs, causative
verbs, modal verbs, reported speech, auxiliary verbs,
unreal past tenses, inverted conditionals and inversions
3. READING

5. Multiple choice

In this activity, we have a text to read and 6 questions to

answer. You have to choose the correct answer, A, B, C or
D.
Es uno de los ejercicios de reading más sencillos. Las
preguntas van por orden por lo que se puede ir haciendo a
la vez.
Tip: Lee primero las preguntas y después el texto. Subraya
la parte importante de la pregunta para saber que
necesitamos saber y hacerlo más rápido.
Esta actividad puntúa doble.

6. Cross-text Multiple Matching

In this activity, we have four texts to read and four

questions to answer.
We have to match the letters A, B, C and D with the
questions.

texto la respuesta. Subráyalas en ese mismo color para ver
más rápido y fácil la respuesta a cada pregunta.

In this activity, we have a text to read with some gaps. You

will need to match the paragraphs with the gaps. There are
extra paragraphs.
Tip: leer el final del párrafo anterior al hueco y el principio
del siguiente párrafo. De esa manera, podremos buscar la
respuesta que más se asemeje al contexto.
Esta actividad puntúa doble.

8. Multiple Matching

In this activity, we have a text to read some texts and

answer ten questions. We will have to match each text with
each question.
Tip: read the questions first and underline the answers in
each text in order to find the correct answer easily.
4. LISTENING

1. Multiple choice

Three short extracts from conversations. There are two

multiple-choice questions for each extract and you have to
choose A, B or C.

helps you eliminate the wrong options.

2. Sentence completion

A monologue lasting 3 minutes. You have to complete the

sentences with the missing word.
Questions follow the same order as the information heard
on the audio. There is one gap per sentence, which is
completed by a word or short phrase.
Tip: listen to the previous specific information of the
sentence.
4. LISTENING
