Apply appropriate grease
Properly tighten hardware
Always tighten hardware to the specified torque.
Over-tightening hardware could deform or break the
hardware or components. Under-tightening hardware Apply threadlocker
could cause hardware or components to become loose.
Either situation could damage the bicycle and result in
injury to the rider. Nm Torque

Reapply threadlocker
All reused-fasteners with pre-applied threadlocker must
be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and have new thread-
locker applied before re-assembly. If threadlocker is not
applied, the fasteners may loosen which could damage
the bicycle and result in injury to the rider.

NOTE: Use a threaded thru-skewer only (1, 6). Other


skewers will not securely connect the hub to the dropouts.

1 Rear skewer — W5267150 Route the brake hoses


1. Connect the calipers to the brake hoses.
2 Rear derailleur hanger bolt (M4x14mm) — W5270010
2. Route the rear brake hose through the grommet
(4) and foam sleeve (5). Route both brake hoses as

shown below.

3. Loosely attach the calipers to the chainstay and fork


(this keeps the hoses from sliding out).

Fork and headset


Install the headset
1. Clean the steerer tube using isopropyl alcohol.
2. Grease both bearings (4), the fork crown race, and
the inside of the head tube as shown to the left.
3. Insert the fork into the head tube.
1 TIP: Use a sprint stand to make
things easier.
4. Route the shift housings and brake hoses through
30mm the split ring (3) as shown below.

5. Complete the headset assembly as shown to the left.

Cutting the steerer tube
2 Headset routing cap If cutting the steerer tube, cut flush or slightly above the
5273154 top of the stem (this helps hold the 5mm spacer above in
3 Headset split ring place).

4 Headset bearings — W540243 NOTE: Before cutting, make sure the stem is set to the
final desired stack position.

Chainkeeper
Adjust the chainkeeper
1. Shift to the lowest gear (largest rear cassette cog).

1 2. Loosen the bolt (4). Rotate the chainkeeper (2) until


there is a 2-3mm gap between the chainring or
2Nm chainring bolts. Tighten the bolt to 3Nm.

3. Loosen the screw (1) on the back of the chainkeeper.
2 Chainkeeper 4. Move the loose piece up or down so there is 1mm of
W541421 vertical clearance to the chain.
3 Curved washer (M5)

5. Tighten the bolt on the back of the chainkeeper to


2Nm.
