RECRUITMENT FOR CONTRACT POSITIONS
Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) is a
premier RF & Microwave R&D Laboratory under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It has five Centres all over the
country and undertakes state of the art design and development projects in advanced/next
generation technologies and also providing electromagnetic compliances and consultancy
services for the industry. SAMEER provides the right environment for budding engineering
and science graduates to gain hands-on experience with latest technology, instrumentation
and softwares. It gives opportunity to meet and interact with eminent scientists and
academia which is a great starting point to further ones professional and academic goals.
SAMEER is looking for suitable persons at Guwahati Centre for its various projects on
consolidated pay. These are contractual appointments and shall not confer any right for
regularization / absorption or continuation of service in SAMEER. Description of posts and

Important Instructions and Contractual Terms
Consolidated Pay/
: Research Scientist: Rs. 30,000/- per month
Remuneration
: Project Assistant (A): Rs. 17,000/- per month
: Project Technician (B): Rs. 19,100/- per month (3yrs or more experience)
: Project Technician (C): Rs. 23,600/- per month (8yrs or more experience)
Upper Age Limit to : 30 years for Research Scientist

Duration of Contract : 2-Years Contract OR duration of the project, whichever is less

General Terms and Conditions
1) Age Limit:
Eligibility date for age will be closing date on receipt of application as on closing date
of the advertisement. As this is a purely contract appointment, no age concession for
reserved category, ex-servicemen or others will apply.
2) How to Apply:
(i) Applications for all POSTS will be accepted ONLINE only.
(ii) All interested candidates must login to https://recruit.sameer.gov.in till
midnight of the CLOSING DATE of the advertisement. Instructions along with
deadline for filling the forms are available in the same link. Once candidates fills
the online information, s/he can edit it as s/h wants. Finally, the
candidate/applicant must CLICK “FINAL SUBMIT” on which a PDF file will be
generated. Candidates are required to get a printout of the PDF file and bring it
along with all the originals and one set of photo-copies of all the original
documents when appearing for the written test and interview.
(iii) Candidates will NOT be allowed to appear for the written test/interview without
print-out of the online submitted form (PDF file) as indicated above.
(iv) Result of written examination will be announced and only those candidates who
qualify will be called for interviews on the same date or on date scheduled which
will be announced accordingly.
(v) Candidates should posses the prescribed experience in the one or more of the
relevant fields as mentioned under the column “Experience” with documentary
proof.
(vi) Crucial date for counting experience will be the closing date of applications. The
relevant experience possessed before acquiring the essential qualifications will
not be counted. Selection will be made purely on merit and mere work
experience of SAMEER will be no ground for preference.
3) Selection Procedure:
(i) Candidates applying for RS posts who fulfil the prescribed qualifications
may be required to appear for written test(s).
(ii) Candidates applying for Project Assistant and Project Technician posts who
fulfil the prescribed qualifications may be required to appear for written test
and/or skill test
(iii) Candidates shortlisted after the above tests shall require to appear for
personal interview. Date, Time and Venue will be announced online or

(iv) Final selection will be based on performance in the interview which will be
held at the venue (unless instructed otherwise) as mentioned in the admit
card.
4) General Note:
(i) Candidates, who possess the prescribed degree/certificate with minimum
55% or equivalent CGPA awarded by the university / board up to the
closing date of application, will only be considered.
(ii) The prescribed essential qualifications/experience is bare minimum and
mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for
written test/skill test and/or interview.

5) TA/DA will NOT be paid to candidates for appearing for screening tests and/or
interview.
6) SAMEER reserves the right to reject or accept the candidature of any applicant at any
stage.
7) SAMEER reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify/alter the
recruitment process, if need arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning
any reason thereof.
8) Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed for the
post they have applied. In case it is found out in any stage of the selection process
or even after, that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information or
suppressed relevant information/material or does not full fill the criteria, his/
her candidature/service is liable for rejection/termination without notice.
9) Candidates will have to produce all original certificates for verification at the time of
interview.
10) Candidates desirous of applying for more than one post must apply separately for
each post indicating code no.
11) The appointment is purely on contractual basis and shall not confer any right for
regularisation/ absorption or continuation of service in SAMEER.
12) The person selected for contract appointment will not have any claim or right for
his/her continuity in service or automatic extension of the term contract.
13) No additional increments will be given in case the candidate has more number of
years of experience as prescribed for the post applied.
14) Candidates having M.E./M.Tech selected for RS post will be eligible for additional
one-time increment after assessment of his/her assigned work.
15) Applications of Candidates who have worked as Research Scientist in any of the
SAMEER Centre’s for FIVE or more years will NOT be considered to be eligible for
the post of Research Scientist.
16) Selected candidate will have liability to serve anywhere in the country.
17) SAMEER does NOT provide accommodation to selected candidates.
18) Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence will be treated as
disqualification for the post.
19) No interim queries will be entertained.
20) Only Indian Nationals need to apply.
