DFCCIL GENESIS

DFCCIL envisaged as state of the art


technology in construction,
maintenance & operations to improve
operation at new efficiency level.
Towards the objective
Trains operations envisaged through TMS
and considering need for addressing modern
requirement DFIS has been designed.
“Aatma Nirbhar” initiative

● Developed by in house talent of young


executives from user department
● guided by domain experts and technicians
with extensive experience in the field.
● This application has several modules and
key performance indicators over WDFC
and EDFC are monitored through DFIS.
Secure access…
● Access : All users, Management, Staff & Customers
● Security : Two factor authentication, hosted on
secured CRIS cloud to ensure security, reliability,
concurrency and availability.
DFIS operates on the CRIS cloud server
and is integrated with various Indian
railways (IR) applications, such as CMS,
ICMS and FOIS, to share data through a
rest API mechanism.

As DFCC shares railway assets,


including wagons, locomotives, and
crew for train operations, the integration
with IR applications allows for seamless
communication and data sharing

● DFIS will act as facilitator/a central system for communication of data between
different systems of IR and TMS
● Short term objective: To provide an interface to integrate data generated and
processed by various systems.
● Long term objective: To develop a OLAP (online analytical processing) for
performing multidimensional analysis for Business intelligence and DSS.

Progressive & Agile…

We have utilized the agile method of development


during the creation of our system, and we have been
continuously receiving feedback from various
stakeholders, including field staff, station masters,
controllers, and management users. This feedback
has been used to evolve the system over time and it
continues to undergo improvements.

Geo fenced virtual crew lobby

• Virtual lobbies are configured by CMS/IR at OCC/PRYJ


and OCC/ADI on one PC connected via FOIS network. It
will be manned 24x7 by DFC crew controllers.
• Crew will be able to do sign on/off on IR Chalak-Dal App
once he is within the geofenced area of the DFC crew
changing point (actual lobby).
• Traffic Advice and corresponding crew assignment task
will be done on CMS application at OCC/PRYJ and
OCC/ADI will be pushed to DFIS to avoid duplication of
task in DFIS by CMS/IR.

visual evidences)

Caution orders integration with ICMS
FOIS <-> DFIS <-> TMS INTEGRATION

• Integration with FOIS already started Use cases for


forecast, train path and handover tested.
• Integration with Alstom TMS in progress testing with
Alstom simulator for forecast and train path over,
Application testing in progress.
• With integration of departure and arrival data coming
from TMS train running will work with machine
generated data instead of manual fed data.
Way forward…
• In last one and half year DFIS has collected sufficient data that
can be utilized for Data/Business Analytics.
• After commissioning of all sections DFIS will focus on efficient
operations by using eco-driving techniques and ML
optimization algorithms for time and energy optimization.
• To implement this DFIS is going to implement the next
generation of Information Technology & Information Security
like Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML),
Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, Process
Automation, GIS (Geospatial Information System) based
application development.
Way forward…
• DFCCIL is soon launching secured Tablet embedded with:
• Advance Signal Position/Fog Signal Device,
• Pushing of Train Authorities and Caution Orders
• Abnormalities reporting - Two way
• MDM device can only be used for specific and authorized user.
• Availability of updated circulars, other important manuals and
bulletins
• Also collect and populate many online data.
• No personal content & Apps
