required percentage of compaction i.e. 95%

- Anti-termite treatment will be done before placing the blinding concrete.
- Concrete of grade C-16/20 will be laid in a thickness of 50mm after the preparatory works has
been inspected & approved for pouring.
- The surface of the blinding will be smoothly finished to the required line & level as per the
drawings.
- The surface will be cured & covered by applying 2 coats of Bitumen (Refer Tech data sheet of
approved Bitumen which work at curing material and waterproof for the application).

7.2 Reinforcement
- Area will be surveyed by SCEGC surveyor and mark as per the approved layout and shop
drawings.
Only approved bar bending schedule & shop drawings will be used for cutting and bending of
rebar's. Concrete cover blocks will be fixed (Same strength of concrete) to the reinforcement at
proper spacing as per mentioned size in the relevant drawings.
- Care will be taken to ensure that the tie wire used and are trimmed properly
- Spacing and sizes of rebar, line and Levels, will be checked prior to placement of concrete, as a
part of Inspection procedure.
- Only approved material for MEP embedded items as per specification & relevant drawings will be
used. All the embedded items will be properly secured in position and levels shown in approved
7
shop drawings before placing of concrete and will be checked.

7.3 Form work, Shuttering & Scaffolding

- Approved scaffolding will be used for Slab concrete. Proper care will be taken and checking will
be done before and after erection of Scaffolding. The surface over which scaffolding will be erect

be compacted by means of mechanical needle vibrators. For the same concrete pour, the
maximum lapsed time between the discharge loads of fresh concrete will not exceed120 minutes
from the batching time.
- No concrete will be pour when the shade temperature exceeds 40.
- The temperature of the delivered concrete will be controlled by using ice/chilled water to be not
more than 30.
- All necessary laboratory and site sampling and testing will be done as per specifications.
- Concrete pump will be positioned strategically, so that the boom will be able to reach the area to
be concreted with less time of shifting its position.
- All access to be arrange and maintained for concrete truck mixers to move freely and
continuously.
- Before placing the concrete check the concrete Temperature and the slump meeting the
Requirements of Mix Design (Frequency of sample as per the specs).
Concrete cubes to be taken as per specs/advised by Engineer (Every 110m3 1set for compressive
Strength and every 250m3 durability test).
- Concrete layers of 40cm thick shall be consolidated by mechanical vibrators. The vibrators shall
be adequate in number of units and power of each unit to properly consolidate all concrete
8
- For Vertical elements placement of concrete should be layer by layer and proper vibrator in order
to avoid the segregation.
