Advances in manufacturing operations coupled with increased requirements to integrate complex
IT-dependent processes onto the factory floor have created an ever-expanding demand for moving
IT components outside the traditional data center and into much less friendly environments. To meet
the demands for both IT performance and industrial-grade protection, Rittal has created a NEMA
Type 12 rated series of its field-proven TS8 enclosures that incorporates the best of both worlds – the
protection of rugged industrial enclosures and the performance of Rittal’s IT rack systems. These
NEMA Type 12 network enclosures are compatible with a range of both industrial and IT accessories
as well as Rittal industrial cooling products – including filter fans and air conditioners – engineered to
keep IT equipment up and running while maintaining the critical NEMA protection rating.
NEMA Type 12 network enclosures are designed to meet real-world challenges while providing user
friendly solutions, including infinitely depth-adjustable 19” rails printed with “U” measurements front
and rear for easy positioning. Tool-less assembly techniques have been included throughout for a
host of accessories and cable management options. The 19” rails can support up to 3,200 lbs. and
the units feature internal hinges and locking points for added security.
