middle-class households with rooftop solar panels in a bit to provide electricity from solar energy.
➢ In 2014, the government launched
the Rooftop Solar Programme that aimed to achieve a cumulative installed capacity of 40,000 megawatts (MW) or 40 gigawatts (GW) by 2022. ➢ The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to provide free electricity to one crore homes through rooftop solar systems.

electricity free every month.

➢ The Union Cabinet approved the continuation and
merger of various schemes of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) into three major components under a unified central sector scheme named 'Vigyan Dhara’.
➢ The scheme has been proposed for the 15th Finance
Commission period from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
➢ All programs under 'Vigyan Dhara' will be aligned
with DST's 5-year goals toward realising the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

innovation, and technology development, thereby strengthening the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) ecosystem in India. ➢ The Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) is a pension scheme for central government employees that aims to provide financial security and dignity after retirement.
➢ Maharashtra, ahead of its October 2024 assembly elections, has
become the first state to adopt the newly introduced Unified Pension Scheme (UPS).
➢ Assured Pension: 50% of average basic pay for the last 12
months prior to retirement for a minimum service of 25 years (proportionate for service less than 25 years, minimum 10 years).
➢ Assured Family Pension: 60% of the pension immediately after
the employee’s demise.
➢ Assured Minimum Pension: ₹10,000 per month after 10 years
of service.
➢ Beneficiaries: 23 lakh central government employees.
➢ Effective Date: From 1st April 2025.

➢ The Prime Minister distributed drones to 1000 Namo Drone Didis during the Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
➢ It is a Central Sector Scheme for providing drones to the Women
Self Help Groups (SHGs)
➢ The Scheme aims to provide drones to 15,000 women-led Self-
Help Groups (SHGs) for providing rental services to farmers for agriculture purposes (application of fertilizers and pesticides).
➢ A subsidy of 80% of the cost of the drone (up to a maximum of
₹8 lakhs) will be provided to the women SHGs for the purchase of drones.
➢ Training for women members of SHGs to fly drones will also
be provided before releasing the subsidy amount.
➢ It is mandatory to complete the drone fly training program in
order to avail the subsidy on the purchase of drones under the Namo Drone Didi Scheme. ➢ Launch date: August 28, 2014
