INSTRUCTION

1. Form Your Group: Collaborate with classmates to create a group (group size will be
determined by the lecturer).

2. Identify Relevant HR Issues: Conduct an interview with the employer/owner of a


company that has at least 5 employees, aiming to identify a minimum of five (5)
current Human Resource Management issues. Ensure you receive approval from the
lecturer before arranging the interview.

3. Prepare Interview Questions: Once approved, craft insightful questions that focus on:
● HR Issues: Pinpoint the current Human Resource Management
challenges the company is facing.
● Root Causes of Each Issue: Explore the underlying factors contributing
to each HR issue.
● Impacts of Each Issue: Assess the effects these issues have on the
company, employees, and overall operations.
● Available Data and Statistics: Provide any relevant numbers or data that
help quantify or illustrate the HR issues.
● Owner’s or Employer’s Solutions and Actions: Outline the steps and
strategies the employer has implemented to address each HR issue.

4. Compile Findings: Organize all information gathered from the interview into a detailed
written report.

5. Analyze and Comment: Evaluate the issues and the employer’s responses. Offer your
own analysis, whether you agree or disagree with the employer's actions, and suggest
improvements or alternatives based on HR practices covered in the course.

6. Ensure the report includes:


● Cover page and table of contents
● Company and employer background
● A breakdown of each issue
o Causes of the issue
o Root Causes of Each Issue
o Impacts of Each Issue
o Employer's actions/solutions

7. Weightage: This assignment is worth 30% of your ongoing assessment.

8. Submission Deadline: Submit both hard and soft copies (via Ufuture/etc) by Week 11
(2nd Jan 2025).

9. This assignment should be completed simultaneously with Assignment 2 (refer to the


instructions in Assignment 2).
