1. What is the technology scope for foundational skill readiness?
Foundational skill learning will cover Java, SQL and WebUI (HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript) for all
selects.
2. When will Cognizant conduct the qualifier assessment?
Qualifier assessments will be planned in the week of 25th September and in the week of 16th
October. You can choose a slot in either of these weeks via the survey link in the email.
3. What happens if I do not submit the survey?
You will not be able to take up the qualifier assessment and cannot continue with further learning
journey. Subsequently, your onboarding will be delayed and will be based on future business
requirements.
4. How will the assessment be conducted?
Assessment will be conducted at a Cognizant location. You will be onboarded one week prior to
your assessment.
5. How many attempts do I have for the qualifier assessment?
Only 1 attempt.
6. Is there an eligibility criterion for qualifier assessment?
Anyone holding Cognizant’s internship offer and a recipient of this email can appear for the qualifier
assessment, post onboarding into a location.
7. What all assessments should I need to clear to move to Stage-2?
You need to clear both Qualifier Assessment and SpeechX (English proficiency) assessment to
move to Stage-2.
8. What is the pass percentage for qualifier assessment?
70%
9. What is the pass criteria for SpeechX assessment?
Candidate with CEFR rating B2 and above is considered as PASS.
10. I have already taken up SpeechX assessment during selection. Do I need to take up SpeechX
assessment again?
Only the candidates who have secured a CEFR rating of A1 or A2 or B1 during the Cognizant hiring
process will have to take up the SpeechX assessment again.
11. What will be the qualifier assessment pattern?
Qualifier assessment will have a mix of coding and multiple-choice questions, covering the
foundational and additional skills. There will also be a mock assessment prior to the actual
assessment to provide a better perspective of questions that will appear in the qualifier assessment.
12. Will I have UDEMY access for foundational learning?
No. However, you will be provided with open-source curated learning material covering all skills.
Preparing with the help of this material will be sufficient to clear the qualifier assessment.
13. What additional support will I get during my foundational learning?

Cognizant will arrange for master classes once a fortnight, where experts will connect with you to
provide additional insights and support. There will also be a query clarification session every week,
via a hotline connect.

15. What is the next step after clearing qualifier assessment?
On clearing qualifier assessment, you will be mapped to a subsequent advanced skilling, which
will be 100% in-person at Cognizant premises.
16. What is the consequence if I fail in qualifier assessment or SpeechX assessment?
On failing qualifier or SpeechX assessment, candidate may be mapped to an opportunity in
Cognizant Infrastructure Services (CIS) based on business requirements, subject to clearing a
CIS specific screening. If the candidate doesn’t clear the CIS screening, the LOI will be revoked.
17. How long is the duration of the qualifier / SpeechX assessment?
Qualifier Assessment – 3hrs; SpeechX – 1hr.
18. Is hands-on experience or learning completion mandatory?
Yes. This would make candidate proficient on the skills required to clear the qualifier assessment.
19. When and how can I take a mock assessment?
Mock assessment would be scheduled post the onboarding on Cognizant premise, before actual
qualifier assessment.
20. Will there be any mock assessment for SpeechX?
No. However, there will be instructions provided about SpeechX assessment with Do's & Don'ts,
assessment setup etc., post onboarding.
21. Can I choose my assessment slot?
You can choose the assessment week via the survey. Assessment time slots and location will be
communicated to you, by Cognizant. Your onboarding location will be communicated to you well
ahead of time.
22. What should I do if I am unable to take the assessment on the scheduled date?
There is only one attempt, and you should plan to appear for the same.
23. Will my assessment location and subsequent training location be different?
No. You will continue the training at the location where you are taking up qualifier assessment.
24. Will my project location be different from training location?
Project location will be specific to business demand and may / may not be same as your training
location.
25. Can the location be changed for qualifier assessments?
No, the location cannot be changed.
26. Is it necessary to have provisional certificate for training onboarding?
No, but provisional certificate is mandatory for joining into Cognizant as a full-time employee
